I think the last paragraph is right. We're sending players on the pitch to be ninja assassins looking for the perfect kill, when we all want to see a bit more bar room brawling.

You?re just changing the way that game played out to blame the manager.
Never looked likely to create chances in the first half? We had loads of chances, we just didn?t score them!
If we?ve had 24 shots Vs 8, we?ve tactically got it right.
The problem was solely down to the fact we didn?t kill the game off.
If we had scored 3 of those 24 chances yesterday, nobody would be saying we were lucky or it was undeserved. We were comfortably the better team in every aspect of the game apart from the most critical part which is the score.
This. There are clearly issues that need resolving with our style of play, but yesterday we were unlucky not to win. If Bedeau heads in from close range, we win the game, and suddenly nobody is annoyed at Maynard for being tactically inept. Such fine margins, and we always seem to be on the wrong side of them.
In September and October I was fully behind this sentiment. I thought we were unlucky in quite a few games and deserved more out of them.
Then it kept happening, and by February and March my mind had changed to this can?t possibly be unlucky anymore. Nobody is this unlucky over the course of a season.
Here we are in late April with the same old hard luck tales.
It cannot be bad luck. It?s down to the head coach why we keep losing. Be it tactically, motivationally. He just hasn?t got it and I?m sad to say he?s just not a winner and doesn?t know how to win games consistently.
That is a hugely kind reading of the game imo. At 1-0 and midway through the second half I said to my son that we looked a shambles in that we were throwing people forward looking for a second but we looked wide open at the back. Flynn did what so many other coaches have done this season, made subs, put us under pressure, and attacked our weak points. We did what weve so often done this season reacted too late and crumbled.
Yes we have been unlucky at times this season and sometimes havent had the benefit of reffing decisions ( how on earth was that not a foul on JJ at 1-0??) but weve been on the wrong end of so many games like yesterdays to be down to luck.
In an ideal world Crowley would have stayed at the club to honour the second year of his contract. I dont blame the club for not being held to ransom either over wage demands as no one man is bigger than the club and subsequently opting to take the money MK Dons offered in January. It suited both parties financially but its transpired its not helped Notts, DC or MK Dons on the field in the second half of the season.
On the pitch it was always going to be difficult to bring in a replacement to DC in January without spending a fortune and the pool of players available is a lot less than in the summer. I know the counter argument is that its likely contributed in some part to us not securing automatic promotion place.
It something that does need to be addressed in the summer in my opinion and is emphasised more as Abbott will go back to Spurs. A midfield rebuild/reshape this summer is as important as the defensive rebuild was last summer for me. We need a midfield trio that will have between them creativity, pace, physicality, energy and robustness to make up for what we lost in Crowley, JJ, Robertson and Nemane. Thats regardless of where we finish and what league we are in. A fully fit JJ and Robertson will be a start.
I think we'd be doing much better with LW in charge, the play was in a different league. Yes we've kept alot more clean sheets but at a negative overall effect as we're about as cutting edge up front as a fax machine. Under LW we really did "carve teams apart" as you say we did the first 20 mins and that's against good teams as well, not mid table cloggers. Maybe Platt may make a mistake like Baldwin now and again but if you want to compare Bedau to Baldwin then bloody hell it's night and day mistakes wise. I would also rather watch the magic of a quick, 20 pass move ending with a goal as I did under LW and think to myself that was amazing especially for this level, than the magic of Didzy saving us a draw. I think I'll agree to disagree with you on this one if that's ok.
It was so disappointing that I've left it till now to think it over before posting
We didn't actually play badly but the players seem to have become fearful playing at home, trying to be too safe rather than trying things in case it doesn't come off and they get stick from the crowd
We've been playing more freely in away games where the home fans expect their team to attack and the games are usually more open than they are at ML where almost every opponent comes to sit back and allow us to pass it sideways and backwards until they force us to punt it upfield
