I fully understand what you are saying Jackal. That scenario does rely on going on a formidable run to make up for falling behind everyone else so early on in the season.
It was quite some achievement for Barrow to have only 3 defeats in 28 games. Hence they deserved automatic promotion.
Could we achieve similar if we have an indifferent start? Who knows?
Last season we had a squad cobbled together. So a slow start was justified and understandable. This season nine of the eleven that were at the club last season started the game against Dover. When you’ve got the majority of a team who have played together for a year you should be able to hit the ground running.
That is what was disappointing yesterday. At least a point dropped if not three already on day one.
Let’s hope we get some more positive results in the next two games at home and before too long we are up there with the pace setters.
