The civil service? MMMMMMM, lets look at that.
The civil service is a collective term for a sector of government composed mainly of career civil servants hired rather than appointed or elected, whose institutional tenure typically survives transitions of political leadership. A civil servant, also known as a public servant, is a person employed in the public sector by a government department or agency for public sector undertakings. Civil servants work for central and state governments, and answer to the government, not a political party.
Theres a key sentence in there, that you and the civil service seem to dislike.
When a ruling body or boss says jump, the only pause should be "how high"?
I am no fan of Raab, but if he is right and the tail is wagging the dog we have a problem.
Lets look at it from what I know.
When running a production floor, I set the rules of how we do it/ the standards/ how quickly/ manning levels. That's my job and scrutinised by directors.
When a slecective few decide to deviate from that, they upset the whole apple cart.
So, it will very start with a few "hard stares", raising to some "shouting" and if that doesn't work, the disciplinary procedure comes into it.
It seems to me, the civil service either has the spine of a jelly fish/ a hidden agenda/ or out of control as to who pulls its strings.
If that was the worst of Raabs crimes, then something needs looking at fast.
During covid, the civil service was allowed to work from home and not risk breaking / spreading covid. Since the lifting, they have in the main been very hestitant to return to full time office work.
You can find that anywhere before you start as well.
Standards and delivery times have plummetted. Which I would expect from anyone not being monitored over a working period.
Yes home working helps across the board. But proper productivity levels? Nah, sorry aint happening. Its like telling RA to do his last job from home and teach a class via video.
It is never as productive as him and his pupils being there.
NB, for your info. All politicians lie and mislead people. I could go on all day about that.
The current hillarity, is Sir Softy having a go at Sunak over being soft on criminals.
Perhaps forgetting that he was complicit in preventing the deportation of 41 time served hard criminals, who went on to reoffend in some of the most horrible ways.
His whining , as you call it, needs investigating. Because if true, the very core of getting things done is up **** creek.
