There have been at least 7 Jihadi attacks in Afghanistan alone since Aug 2015, which have killed 330.

My only reason for being interested in this topic is because, like a lot of people, I would like to reduce or put an end to fatal Jihadi attacks, in the UK as a priority. If that makes me a "right wing tosser" then so be it.

And not to forget, that Muslims are the first victims of Islam. Anyone who can do their own reading, their own research outside of mainstream education or the education they receive within 'their' religion will be able to see for themselves, that ALL religion is nonsense. So the first victims of Islam, are the children who are brainwashed by their elders into thinking it is the truth. As with all religions.

This then leads to things such as Islamic terrorism, different sects of Muslims believing they are correct and killing each other over it (I know several leftists will be desperate to jump in here and mention Protestants and Catholics, despite the fact they aren't at war in numerous countries), and things such as forced marriages of young girls, those young girls being raped by their much, much older husbands, and female genital mutilation. That is just some of the things Muslims have to put up with, inflicted upon them by other Muslims. And some people think it's Islamophobia to speak out against such things. Banging. Your head. Against. A brick. Wall.

But I find it hard to swallow because I currently live and work in East London which has a huge ethnic mix. Many of my work mates are devout Muslims but they are just as shocked and angry as the rest of us. Apart from a couple of women wearing religious head dress they work, socialise and are part of the work community as anyone here. I find it hard to accept such generalised talk of 'Muslims being the problem' or 'we should ship out Muslims' simply because of this. We'd be targeting people just as British in behavior and norms as I am. I just can't accept that penalising these colleagues of mine can be an acceptable part of any solution.

I think that working in East London may be different to my hometown. One of the first thing I noticed living here is how integrated the different cultures are. My daughter's school class accomodates about 20 different languages but on the wall this is expressed on a wall poster as a strength, a positive thing about the school. From what I remember, and still see in Rotherham, there is still a tendency to seperate different cultures; they live there, we live here and this comes from the equally from the different cultures? I'm not sure how much this still holds true (please let me know your thoughts, I do feel quite an outsider after 20 years down South)? But it still seems that parts of the borough have their separate communities whereas here, I can see directly what happens when people are kind of 'thrown' together. It felt weird to me at first, I wasn't comfortable at all, but now see it as a positive thing if cultures are to co-exist.

I remember an excellent documentary (I think it was put together by Trevor MacDonald) which went into depth on this problem of social cohesion and the local council (in the North West I think, I'm sure you can google to easily find out about it), had the initiative of ensuring that the children of the different communities went to the same schools, and that in doing this the children will come to accept each other as a natural factor, just as my daughter does with her multi-cultural friends. It seemed a really positive initiative, and I wonder if we shouldn't move in this direction.

Just a few thoughts for what they're worth. I agree with Mr Chuckle that one no-brainer is that if an individual is proven to have left the country for defined terrorist activities, then of course they should not be allowed back. I agree on the logistics anyway.

For myself though I don't want to be a part of anything with 20 different languages and cultures, I am quite happy with the English culture and language and believe that anyone who lives and works here should do so by embracing said language and culture and not expect the indigenous population to alter their beliefs and attitudes to suit them.
The massive explosion in immigration has caused ghettos to sprout up, mainly in Northern towns, which people view as no go areas. The driving down of wages, especially to the lower paid because of an increase in the workforce and lastly a strain on our public services.
A lot of people believe multiculture is a good thing but I would argue that it has gone too far too fast!
Just my thoughts!

Just imagine its the day after the Manchester attack you buttered your toast, made your morning brew, then tuned in for your daily dose of Britain’s favourite voicemail enthusiast and big toe impersonator, Piers Morgan, to see what he was getting faux outraged about this morning.

Then imagine that sat on the sofa next to him was extremist hate preacher Anjem Choudary, who’d been Tweeting the night before that girls often go to gigs in unsuitable clothing (in this hypothetical situation). You’d be more ****ing outraged than Theresa May having to make eye contact with a member of the public.

People would be up in arms. The complaints line would ****ing melt like Diane Abbott in a maths quiz. ****ing pitch fork sales would go through the roof and The Daily Mail would explode in a fit of ‘moral’ outrage like a vegan who’s just found out Haribos are cow based.

So why is it when Muslims are mown down by some alcoholic gob****e, who probably wasted his **** excuse for a life reading the Facebook pages of Britain First and The EDL, do we have an extremist, right wing, fanatical hyper **** on breakfast television, spreading his bile filled, hate ridden bull**** as if he’s delivering a ****ing pottery segment? As if this is the most normal thing in the world?


I don’t care if that pound land Farage, Piers, did grill him. I wouldn’t have cared if he punched the **** in his divisive, hate inciting smug ****ing face.

No extremists should have a platform, Islamist or Far Right, especially in front of millions of viewers. We need to starve the flames of hatred from oxygen and cut out this cancer from our society. If we don’t, how will this madness ever end?

Please be aware that whilst I state that I am proud that my daughter attends a school class that has such a diverse range of student backgrounds and actively celebrates that, in subsequent discussions on this I go on to clarify that I agree that lessons should only be conducted in English, and all children participate and contribute in English as the children learn to speak and write the language together. I would not accept any part of a lesson being conducted in a lesson my child doesn't understand and nor should any other parent.

Which is why ALL general education schools MUST operate using the English language, as that is the country we live in. Our daughter's school teacher herself only speaks English although can do several basics in other language. Most school teachers are like this.

Whilst most on here would probably have me down as a 'leftie', I would dearly love to see an end to religious schools and for children of local communities, where I agree too much optional segregation exists from whites and ethnics, to be required to attend mixed schools that blend different cultures together so that all children get the benefit of not developing 'us and them' mentalities.

You'll notice if you read through a few pages I repeatedly asked if any of the posters here would be happy to send their kids to such a school - only a couple replied that they would. I think that the problem can be as much with the 'indigenous' population as it is with migrant groups 'ghetto-ing' together. I'd like the local authorities to force the hand of both so that children attend together and learn about each other in a positive context.

Re: use of migrant workforce to drive down wages - agree that this cynical practice should be stopped and is my one agreement with the Brexit argument for border controls. No problem with different cultures, as many as needed to lets raise force the hand of employers to not undercut the local workforce. This is a historic problem regarding immigration, and the problem is that it is so ingrained into the economy now that a radical stop to the practice does have serious financial implications for the economy and would do more harm than good. It would need to be carefully structured and a priority should be better wages.

The article loses all credibility as soon as it compares Tommy Robinson to Anjem Choudary. Choudary has called for the murder of British soldiers and policemen, being involved with several proscribed organisations and constantly preached hate, including voicing his support for ISIS, a terrorist organisation responsible for the murders and rapes of thousands of people. He is now in jail for that support.

Tommy Robinson has NEVER called for the murder of ANYONE. Ever. He has NEVER asked people to attack Muslims, or Jews (unlike Choudary). He does not support - and never has - ANY proscribed organisations or terrorist groups. And despite the lies that of the far left that he is a Nazi, far right, extremist, etc, etc, he has NEVER been charged or even arrested for, ANY hate crime.

So how can you, with any kind of moral conscience, post an article that compares the two as though they are on a par with each other?

And he rants about hatred, he spews far more of that in that article alone than Tommy ever has.

I am STILL waiting for someone to show me all these things that Tommy has said that are extreme, fascist or racist, or incite hatred............
