Jeez barriers to transition from youth team to first team is always a common moaning theme on here & when we get a young one in then why are some so quick to criticise ?
Dont play em & we will never know, play em & then we dont give em a chance to learn their trade while playing for a Championship club half way through season going for PL glory too.
Mention of PL promotion even gets folks moaning saying we will be straight back down. So do we now go out to spend big on the likes of Rashford for 55m with wages off the planet or stick with our motley crew & exhaust the the talent we have in the quest for PL football ?
Will also add, the transition of elite youth footballers through Academy systems towards the first team is a highly complex process, to be fair nowadays.
A myriad of factors including technical competence, physical prowess & the players development environment all combine to determine a youth players progression also.
Fact is - youth players often struggle to adapt to hyper-competitiveness in a results driven first team environments & often in gaining experience have to overcome many obstacles of the tough challenges that are thrown up in the early part of their careers & jeez some fans are quick to throw barbs at em too. 🙁
But players will always be better off for it if they stick at it, as every player that eventually makes it will have overcome some sort of hurdle to deal with, including media slatings while developing.
So important to consider the multiple facets of talent development which highlights the nuances & individualised nature of player development.
Not damn easy supporting the profiling of players competence against a range of essential challenging ever changing technical, tactical, sociological, physiological & psychological metrics into generating the individual plans for each player based on their unique development needs.
Blame of the young players, blame of the coaching, blame of the sports science & blame of the psychology perspective are many of the critiques constant barbs & of course finally blame the club too.
If some folks cannot stand the heat then get outta the kitchen, some may suggest to fans who wanna play the weekly emotional blame-game finger pointing - with Joseph now under the cosh. 🙁
Just saying - on behalf of those who do see light at the end of the ER tunnel still flickering ! 👍
