About stats, I've proven beyond any doubt that I'm no expert on here, but surely stats aren't supposed to be single-use things like the more possession = the more points, or the most xG the more goals. Much more likely to be meaningful in clusters - like xG - xGA
+ pass accuracy + passes in oppos box or whatever, but taken as a whole picture rather than as a single infallible indicator aren't they?

*** Great discussion by LeftPeg, Jacob and lots of others on here, helping me put things Notts in clearer perspective. Don't read other fans message boards very often, but we're lucky to have the depth (and breadth) of posts we often get here. TY! What price old-school journalism?
Possession for possession’s sake, with no end product, has been our biggest failing under the Reedtz. I’ll never forget the nightmare that was Notts v Halifax under Ardley where it literally felt like there was a force field keeping us from crossing the halfway line. We had similar problems at times under Burchnall and now they’ve returned with Maynard.

It would actually benefit us if we had a limited amount of time with the ball before having to forfeit possession, like the “shot clock” rule in basketball.
