    Beating Man U in the Watney Cup Final in 1969, just before the season started. Lovely hot day as I recall.

    We stuffed them, Best, Charlton, Law, Stiles Crerand, Kidd, the lot of them

    Stepney, I always thought was a lot like Joe Hart, an accident waiting to happen and every time he played us he made a clanger.

    Stepney and Sprake both made lots of mistakes

    ...yes he was always good for a clanger, never looked like a keeper either. Two years later he was actually Man Utd's leading scorer until mid february, taking their pens in that awful season when they were trully **** and got relegated by Dennis Law's 'act of treachery' backheeled goal. And yes it was a boiling hot day, as I recall all the Watney cup matches were on sunny days
