    Player Ratings versus BHAFC

    Player Ratings versus BHAFC
Carson: Cannot really remember him having a save to make. Distribution was pants though: straight- kicked in to touch on 4 occasions and a couple of hospital-pass kicks to Christie. 6/10
Christie: No attacking intent of note until the 83rd minute when Blackman had been withdrawn suggesting tactically told to stay put when Blackman was on. Some good work very late on when he looked a threat. 7/10
Keogh: The usual game; busy, with some lively runs out of the box. 6/10
Shackell: 7/10. Very assured and solid.
Baird: 6/10 Did the job at left-back. Tidy and sensible. What a shame Mr and Mrs Forsyth had an early night 9 months to the day of the big kick off because Mr Forsyth was holding his Mrs’s hand when he should have been flying down the wing. Baird didn’t go over the half-way line.
Bryson: 8/10. Excellent game by Bryson playing very defensive midfield; positioned just in front of the back four, he tackled well and kept the shape and moved the ball on well. What a waste of a superb footballer though. Bryson had a poor season by his own admission a couple of seasons ago explaining “The manager played me very deep”.
Johnson: 5/10 Was the crowd cheering his withdrawal or the arrival of Will Hughes? Oh dear Bradley...some mis-placed passes and a seeming lack of appetite and flair. But a nice hair bun.
Hendrick: 6/10. Lots of toil but never really knits anything together .
Blackman: 5/10. Started well with a couple of runs down the right wing and all looked ok. Then disappeared. Is this man really a footballer? Mr Pearson thinks he has a lot of potential but didn’t say what for...
Ince: 3/10. Anonymous. Had no service. Almost fashioned a goal late in the game when things opened up but lack of possession in midfield by Derby meant he just had scraps. Lost possession on a couple of occasions when he did have the ball.
Bent: 3/10 Ran around a lot. Zilch service.
    Subs:
Hughes: 8/10. Derby improved 60% when Hughes was introduced after 60 minutes. Suddenly we kept possession and started to make inroads into Brighton’s half and we even started to threaten their goal. Mr Pearson thinks Blackman has great potential; has yet to say anything about Will Hughes. Maybe he’s got his head in the sand.
Butterfield: 7/10 for Ince 0n 83. Also livened things up adding possession and mobility to midfield.
Martin: 6/10 ; for Blackman (69 mins). Gave us shape up front after 69 minutes of amoeboid-like dimensions. Suddenly we looked almost like a team .
    Management. 2/10
I will admit that I haven’t been part of the merry band who have been blowing warm smoke up Mr Pearson’s derriere since he was appointed (“He’s done it before”, “He’s the man etc”) and his team selection justified my reservations. How can you see potential in Blackman and put Will Hughes on the bench? Just a couple of months after Hughes ran the game in their backyard on the south coast? How can you nullify Bryson by playing him at CDM? How can you put out a team that was devoid of any idea other than to pass to Blackman, who then lost it? How can you not bring on Russell to stretch the game when it needed stretching? Derby were 2nd best to Brighton who actually were below par How can you claim credit for a point by saying in previous seasons Derby County would have lost that game? Really Mr Pearson? We drew 2-2 and 1-1 with Brighton last year. They finishe 11 points above us. The season before we beat them 3-0 at home and mullered them 6-2 in a play-offs after beating them 2-1 away twice. I’m just not convinced by authoritarian hard-staring. If you want to know the best Derby team to pick, just ask a supporter and don’t insult us with twaddle post-match.

It's a bit soon to have a dig at the management, how they respond to that performance both management and players will be interesting!

Don't think I've ever known you so critical Ella. Can't disagree with very much of it although I am puzzled about you giving Bryson 8/10.
Good in parts but seemed short on pace and energy...got booked for bringing Sidwell down after being completely outpaced by someone who must be amongst the oldest in the league.

No great dispute with direction of the ratings but just couple of details:

One of the few highlights of our performance was the 'worldie' save by Carson in the first minute of 2nd half

Christie went rampaging down the wing in the first five minutes when we looked like a team

For me Keogh was all over the place with wild clearances / tackles

Overall I was very frustrated from the moment I saw the team sheet - how Hughes can't get in that team I will never understand

Having watched the 'highlights' we did actually have 3-4 good efforts but the general performance I would summarise as chaotic which considering we have the same players is difficult to fathom

Actually inept is probably a better summary - God we were awful!

Definition of chaotic: confused and lacking organisation - yep pretty accurate. Definition inept: incompetent and lacking in skill - yep that's right as well!! So we were incompetent, lacking in skill and organisation and every sod in the ground was confused!!
