I also think that the slow demise of the club has led to fewer and fewer posting, added to the fact that the sight is full of very annoying adverts and constantly locking up.

I have to type in word and then copy and paste into MM. If others have to do this I can see why they don’t bother

WOW! The FootyMad team have blocked the use of ad block (one word) plus because it works well. As a moderator I feel I must support their reason behind it. It's clearly there to raise revenue and stop the need for members donations.

Grist, this is an old chestnut, sir. It simply isn't true. I did a long survey some years back on here that showed OTs got vastly more replies than football related. This is in part due to the fact that many of the people who want only RUFC football posts respond peevishly to any such posts asking about coaching qualifications, how many league clubs one has managed or how much money is one prepared to invest in the team.

I'm a complete technophobe but none of these problems affect me at all. I don't get adverts and never see a pop up. I do use AB Plus but have no idea if it's effective.

Most of the views aren't from people but are generated by search engines (bots) scraping the web pages looking for content to index and rank.

Temporarily disable it for MM and you'll immediately see what folk are complaining about

I don't have facebook and whilst I have a twitter account I have to admit that I find it hit and miss. I appear unable to download even ad block plus successfully as I am still getting the adverts. What makes it worse is that my wife is a serial shopper on the internet and for some reason all the items she has looked at and/or bought now appear constantly hen I am on MM.

Don't have these issues on any other site.

Someone, I think Frog mentioned that turning off JavaScript on an IPhone and Ipad works and I can confirm it does. But you do need to turn JavaScript back on for other things though for the life of me I can't remember. It is my pc I have the issues with.

Still if I have to use word then copy and paste it is not so bad.

I'll try ad block plus again.

Take others' points about other types of contact programs - Whatsapp was it? What's Whatsapp? thinking about it, don't tell me. MM will still probably outlast me so I will stick with it a while longer.
