I don't have facebook and whilst I have a twitter account I have to admit that I find it hit and miss. I appear unable to download even ad block plus successfully as I am still getting the adverts. What makes it worse is that my wife is a serial shopper on the internet and for some reason all the items she has looked at and/or bought now appear constantly hen I am on MM.

Don't have these issues on any other site.

Someone, I think Frog mentioned that turning off JavaScript on an IPhone and Ipad works and I can confirm it does. But you do need to turn JavaScript back on for other things though for the life of me I can't remember. It is my pc I have the issues with.

Still if I have to use word then copy and paste it is not so bad.

I'll try ad block plus again.

Take others' points about other types of contact programs - Whatsapp was it? What's Whatsapp? thinking about it, don't tell me. MM will still probably outlast me so I will stick with it a while longer.

It was a combination of off topic and football posts that made this site great once.

Off topics have always had the most posts and have been the most interesting and those who call for them to end are utterly stupid aka millertop.

People like cheeks, millmoormagic,Geetarman, and those other rude and crude posters are the ones who have destroyed this site together of course with the adverts and viruses that infect this site.

We are in 2016 and people don't want to see posts full of a combination of abuse,racism,homophobia or ***ually explicit swear words not to mention childish ***ist jokes.

Zilzal's passing has catapulted me to be Number One poster on here and scum and myself ably helped by Amanda hugs and things will endeavour to save the site by continuing our interesting and family friendly posting

I am constantly nonplussed by those posters who proclaim the demise of this site is down to OT posts. A brief study of the first few pages of threads on here shows several RUFC specific football threads with barely any replies. This nonsense lead to the exodus from Banter of a couple of top OT posters and the site is now a wasteland with a guy called Ian basically talking to himself and several members lamenting the passing of those same posters hounded off by the footie-only brigade.

Pete, I have been on here pretty much since Bigrich started the site. There was always abuse, there was always as many OT's as there was talk about football. The messageboard has its peak when messageboards were at their peak, when there was no twitter and far less social media in general. In the past after a match I would have posted my thought here, now I might post something on twitter and I have a whatsapp with a few mates where I know I will get replies from friends whose opinions I am interested in. It is just the way things have evolved.
The fact that Rich and then Dean lost interest/got fed up with the haters didn't help but it wasn't the main cause of the slide in popularity, that would have happened anyway.

I usually agree with monty but there still seems to be that edginess between us.....maybe it stems from when we worked on the gardens.
