Well thats 1 week to go until our season officially starts and technically we have only signed 1 player so far, 3 including the 2 loans who could be called back at any time.Better get your fingers out AFC.
    I agree.
    The squad is wafer thin.
we need three first X1 players in asap.
I wouldn't put too much cash on us beating either of the Europa league opponents with that squad.
Time to move on from May & Maloney if we're getting a*sed about - both huge injury gambles anyway.

I wouldn't be that bothered about signing May and Maloney if we managed to buy some players of the same quality as them. But I just get the feeling if we dont get those 2 now we will end up signing guys from England that no one has heard of and they will be the same level as Stockley,Storey etc.

I guess you could say Stewart is the short term replacement for McGinn but Hayes and Taylor still haven't been replaced yet, unless we are planning to have Wright and O'Conner as their replacements and buy some squad fillers, doesn't bode well for us being as good this season imo.

Also am I right in thinking that Stockley is suspended for next weeks game?

If so that would mean Storey is our only other striker if Rooney gets injured or is doing feck all in the game.

Surely we are going to sign another striker before the deadline for next weeks game.

Indeed he is, 2 match ban, I think it is.

All this should have been sorted weeks ago, to go into a Euro qualifier with only Rooney as a recognised striker is mince

    Totally agree FTH
And Rooney isn't known for blistering starts to the season - tends to be a slow burner
I think we're going into a difficult tie (irrespective of opposition) with a squad that is thin in a few areas.
To be fair, DM has publicly said where he wants to strengthen (central defence, wide and up front)....
BUT ....we've done f*ck all to address it.
We seem to be getting d1cked about with Maloney & May.
Think it's maybe time to move on from them.
Arnason in the EE basically saying he'd be very interested in coming back
Seems a no brainer to offer him a 2 year deal, he'd be a huge upgrade on big Ash, & Anthony O'Connor.
and IF, as is alleged, we were prepared to offer £500k for a striker (when Boyce was linked) then surely there's a plan B to Steveie May?

People were called "pant pishers" a week or two ago for worrying about the lack of transfer activity
Now? I'd say it's right to be concerned.
If Rooney got injured for example, we'd have Miles f*cking Storey at centre forward! Think about that.

Only recognised striker, apart from Stockley, Storey & Stewart you mean? I know the former is banned for two games, but we're not going to sign a striker for the sake of that.

It's more the width & creativity I'm worried about, not the central striker position.

Stockley - suspended for 2 games and unavailable
    Storey - utter gash
Stewart - not a striker, he plays wide right

    Shockley suspended yes.
Storey may yet become a key player. As stated many times, Hayes did not have a great first season, many questioning his ability to be a Dons player. It's possible Storey could push on.
Stewart agreed, plays behind the striker, left centre or right.

But Donna get yer knickers in a twist. Rooney will be starting and if something were to change that, DM has options, including putting McLean up front.

Did you also notice Anderson came on and scored?

We'll get another striker, but there no point in rushing an option through for next Thursday
