At least it looks like we have a manager buying the players he wants which fit into how he wants to play no scattergun approach or like last season pissing about chasing players we aren't going to get.
Players get injured it's just how it is maybe they could try and play through the pain barrier sometimes but that doesn't seem to be in a lot of players mindset nowadays.
Just let Warne get on with it and see what happens.
    Absolutely Yak.

I agree things do look better but I disagree that warne is able to get the players he wants because I really don't think mr Stewart is ready to hand warne the RUFC checkbook/chequebook yet however I do think if we are in the top six in January he will hand it to him.

Interesting team selection for the 1st league game. Warney will he have it in him to not pick certain players. Think we can play 4-4-2 in this league. Midfield 2 will be Potter with Vaulks or Frecks. Me personally would go with the former.

Side for the opening game. O'Donnell; Emanuel Aayi Ihiekwe Mattock; Williams Potter Vaulks Newell; Da Ball JCH

Players play on billiard tables so if the ball "bobbles" they twist a knee ligament adjusting to control the ball. Instead of being used to that bad bounce.

Bloody rubbish boots are a factor too - Warnock and I are haters of blade "studs"! They are ok in MUD but anything decent and they destroy knees. Modern "lightweight" boots offer poor protection to the bones in the foot.

    Metatarsals 'R'US !

FITNESS is a science and everyone needs different regimes....I know cyclists who train themselves to the calorie - % body fat - absolute peak of fitness. Alone!

These are amateur athlete bikers who are fit as... But football is combative so bulk / strength is a large part of the game as well.

Boxers are another good example...like Boxers - training should simulate "battle conditions" - without courting injury - pushing the body to ever increasing limits !

Every player should know enough by now to know what they need and what to "protect".....let them get on with it - with professional back up and "Cryotherapy"
Ice baths.....that'll sort the buggers out. Ice baths after training is a great help to recuperation reducing swelling and helps tissue "toughness"

Just have to remember to put a step in the bottom if we get a stand-in bath....or Taylor will need a snorkel....

There'll be be no "longest in the shower" competitions after Cryotherapy !
    ( a great leveller )

PS: Playing through the pain as a great route to using crutches @ 30 !

I think that you are correct, Pip - Warney's comments a few weeks ago suggested that JCH might be sent out on loan to sharpen him up... from what I am hearing from reports on yesterday's match, it now seems even more likely

JCH has the shirt. You can't tell in friendly's. If Warney manages properly that's how you pick the side. JCH no way is he going out on loan. He'll be a real asset in this league. Proctor & Moore what have they done? they will be back up options. Jonno will have to get his act together to keep his place but if he proves in the friendly's he's fit he starts the 1st league game. We know he's good enough.

You ask what Proctor and Moore have done, well what has JCH done? His goalscoring record is about 1 in 6 which is poor for a supposed striker.
I agree that Proctor's record is equally poor BUT Warne signed him so he will get the shirt.
The best JCH can hope for is a place on the bench and to be used as an impact substitute but his attitude is going to have to improve for him even to get that opportunity.
