I don't think this will be for long though. What we need is thinkers with vision in this position rather than @rselickers.

The correct appointed youth coaches could save this club millions as well as build towards success.

It's short sighted money pinching to economise in this department.

you have to set targets and when you see the amount spent on development i would want a return
Would this not force wealthy clubs like Man City to just go round buying all the best kids in the country, and putting them in their academy’s ( more than they do already)

Local kids /catchment areas would work but how would it be policed??

very rarely do ex players such as beardo make good acadamy coaches
what he had was natural talent
    you cant coach that

i remeber gazza at boston and kettering

    he was useless at coaching
he was great to watch and had skills some of us have never seen

but he couldnt coach that to others

a lad called micky gynn was a great coach won an FA cup medal was great little midfielder but he wasnt natural so had to be well coached
he then took this with him when he left coventry and koined warboys

lads under him moved on well

i can honestly say the times i et hism at boston which was twice a week he wasnt drunk .
he was a top lad actually

i think the owners promised him stuff then didnt deliver

wrong club really as he was on a percentage of the gate
and if they put the royal wedding on in bostons ground the pheckers still wouldnt get out their tractors and go and have a look
