As long as it's not an uphill struggle I think we'll be OK

Would people prefer TS as chairman knowing he's not got that much money or a takeover by rich Russians/ Chinese/ Thais?

I'd prefer TS because the foreign owners tend to get bored after a few years and things go sour.

I think we need two midfielders and striker in January.

why wouldn't he want to keep us out of it??

just with quotes from Paul Warne some players will have to go out before any can come in.

thars not what we need it should be get the players you want and if any go out it's a bonus.

all we are asking for is for rotherham to have a go at staying up and put up a fight and a bit of backing from the chairman.

what's the point of spending money to get out of league 1 (I have always said Stewart is to big for league 1 but to small for the championship) for than to penny pinch on hundred grand on players wages for a couple of months (it's peanuts)

if we don't bring a couple players in I fear it's going to be a downhill struggle.
You are right Boothy, why wouldn't he....?

But to keep us within FFP rules it will almost inevitably be some going out. Or pay up some contracts, which takes capital.

    No easy answer.

No one knows till the accounts are published, but given Frog's numbers above we can't be far away.

As for January we need to keep key players and bring in a right back a midfielder and a striker, but I can see us losing 2 key players and spending nothing
Please explain who our two key players are ? Most Championship clubs wouldn't want any of our team.

    Ajayi and Vauks
Thought that would be fairly obvious

Quite a few clubs would also sign Rodak if he was available

Don't think Tony Stewart has any intention of spending money to keep us up. He has the club geared up to be a mid-table Lge 1 outfit with a wages budget to match and with just the occasional effort to keep the punters reasonably satisfied. This season has been an unexpected bonus for him and I just don't see him releasing any of the TV money to help us maintain our status. January will be oh so informative.

It's been a bit worrying in recent weeks regarding contradictory statements made by Warney on how fit and ready for action some of the current players are. For example, he keeps saying that Raggett just needs more reserve game time, but when the last reserve game took place (and most of the squad were in Ireland, allegedly), Raggett didn't play for the reserves. Similarly when recently there were injury doubts about Mattock, he said that he could slot Jones in and shuffle the rest around a bit if needed... but Jones does not seem to have appeared in the match day squads for the first team or the reserves for a while. Is all well and he is just trying to confuse the opposition managers?... or are we papering over the cracks? Add to that Newell has looked knackered all season, and other than a few pre-season games against non-league opposition and a fairly brief (and good) sub appearance v Birmingham, so has Vassell.
    Only time will tell...
