Players are not queuing up to sign for Burnley. They know about the abuse they will get if their face doesn't fit, the moans and groans of large numbers of fans if they go through a bad spell, in fact, it is a wonder that we can attract anybody unless we offer them £100,000 per week.

I assume this is a new phenomenon Sub, I've only been on Turf Moor three times in the last 18 months, but previous to that I had a ST. Of course there will be moans after a shocking pass or a bad miss, but that happens on every ground, with all fans, and there are a few who moan continuously, I'm sure they're on every ground as well. I've only rarely known Burnley fans get on a player's case, possibly the worst I can recall was Paul Cook, who got dog's abuse regularly, but I was never really sure why.


So who's getting it in the neck now Sub, like I said, I don't go regularly any more so this is news to me. On Saturday I did hear some moans about Hendrick, as his ineptitude become more apparent as the game wore on, but given the shocking performances from some of the players, I thought the fans were remarkably tolerant of the sub-standard dross that was served up.

Where are we in the transfer market?? We need to get our business done early so we can the sell any players who are surplus. We cannot lack cash, not long ago it was being stated we were one of the richest clubs in the premier. I do not think over the last 2 years we have spent much as income have been funded by outgoings. So that leaves 2 years of Premier payments with last year securing a bonus finishing in the Europa League. Like most windows we have no rumours floating around etc.. unlike may clubs much below our standing. We need to show some ambition so the team looks like it is moving forwards freshening up the squad.


The only thing floating about is Matt Phillips - but we all know how difficult it seems to be doing business with WBA. I would like us to look for players who have a goal threat. So at the back that could be Craig Dawson. I think the rest of the back line in OK. Midfield is a difficult one but my choice would be Tom Cairney but the price might be too high. We probably need some creative player - not sure who? Attack is a little more difficult and while I don't want a player similar to what we have I do think Andy Carroll is a player who knows how to play his position, especially when fit. Of course there is always Depauy at Brentford this might be a risk but we have had Andy Grey from there so it might be a reasonable shout. Another consideration might be Charlie Austin. All the players mentioned have goals threat. What does anyone else think?????

If we manage to pick up a loanee in the transfer window, that we will hardly ever play, I think that would be par for the way we always go.

I would doubt that anyone in fiscal authority would openly show that they have made a mistake to this point.

We never buy when necessary, let alone in panic.

But I am always prepared for the club to demonstrate that I am wrong.

sinkov-- the ground was only half full on Saturday and quite a number of those attending were from Barnsley. As I have said, Hendrick was getting abuse in the warm up before the game had even started. Bardsley, until the last few games, has also had a lot of abuse from near where I sit in the BL stand. Westwood and Mee have also been on the end of it this season.
I just don't know what some fans expect because we are what we are and are fighting hard to get up the table and to stay in the PL. It will not be pretty but it could, or could not, be effective, only time will tell.

If our fans are starting to get on player's backs it's a shame, it's not been something our fans have been noted for over the years, although there's always an exception, a gob****e in every area of the ground. Is it really that bad though, you worry that it might discourage players from signing for us, but the main target Hendrick has just signed a contract extension with us, so he either plays with ear plugs in, or doesn't give a FF what some of our more moronic fans get up to.

From my point of view Hendrick is nowhere near good enough, and I think Sean concurs, he no longer starts him, he's a bit part player for us now, and I can only assume he's got an extension as a squad man and it's a cheap way of providing cover. Having said that, and being quite prepared to moan about Hendrick on here, I would never do it on Turf Moor. I've never booed or abused a Burnley player before or during a game in over 50 years, and I've seen some dross in that time, and I'm not going to start now.
