Given that we really need 8 players in summer when you account for the leavers and likely transfers out the management team better have a damn good list of replacements or we will be in the championship at the end of next season. I for one am not confident!!!

It was ever thus BT, I once had the priviledge of speaking to the legendary Brian Miller, when he was in charge of that sort of thing around 1990. We were in the old D4 and I told him about a Morecambe player who was arguably the best player in the Conference, certainly the best I'd seen, and besides Chalky White wanting to sign him for Colne Dynamos, there were several league clubs interested as well. I expected him to say 'we've had a look at him but......', instead his response when I told him the name was 'How do you spell it ?' Despite the fact that we were bottom end of D4, and this lad was virtually unplayable at the top end of the Conference, the division below us, and playing just up the road in Morecambe, Brian, bless him, had not only not seen him play, he'd never even heard of him.
