Seems the well known reasons for the Nairn bankers murder were to do with his dealings with Livingston FC. The link being that the victim worked for the specialist lending department of the BOS in Edinburgh at the time. Lending to any football clubs are always dealt with by these departments of the various banks. The Bank Of Scotland forced Livi in to administration 9 months before the murder.

That's all I've got out my source so far, away to crack on with the next chapter.
We need to take a couple of steps back Mondo to allow me to keep pace with this cold case review...

Mr Wilson had previously worked at the Specialist Lending Department in Edinburgh which, in the early 2000s had dealings with few 'top level' clubs including our own.

One of these clubs, Livingston FC, had been forced into administration in February 2004 with debts of £7.2 million. One of the creditors who were due money stood to lose a lot of money.

For reasons unknown, Mr Wilson becomes the focal point of ire from one of the creditors who is involved in dubious dealings and has underworld connections.

Whilst in Edinburgh Mr Wilson receives threats on his life. The Bank of Scotland are aware of these threats and the decision is made to relocate Mr Wilson to another branch, and preferably away from Glasgow, where the believe the threats originate.

Is this what we think? Who were Livingston FC in debt to at the time of their 2004 administration? That should be easy to discover...

There’s a fairly in depth article on the Beeb about it.

I think this needs to be the direction we now point our investigation.

The problem with the initial enquiry is the cops up there aren't used to dealing with murders, nevermind hit like murders.

The problem with the AbMad investigation is that Mason will just fire in Nicholas Fairbairn, regardless of him being dead since 1995.

    Just box it up boys.

I'm not sure you pair are taking this as serious as perhaps you should be. Any more capering and you're off the case.

You guys are too close to this case & I'm taking you off it. I might play hard & fast with the rules but the mayor downtown expects results.
