How is that diwn to the EU.

EU have brought in the laws, they have threatened enforcement, some regions of Spain have refused the EU law on smoking in restaurants for example, some regions haven’t upgraded basic improvements such as mains sewers (EU said they would impose fines but haven’t) even though Suma and council tax has increased 10 times in twelve years.

Mind you the Spanish have cracked on with high speed train & main roads with our money haven't they?

Where my house in Spain is there very few houses on mains sewers (possibly 3-5%) even though this should have been completed a few years ago, don’t think it will be completed in my lifetime

So the reason parts of the EU have low standards is because the EU has high standards but some of the countries in it don't enforce them, but for some magical logic only you understand the fact that the EU has high standards causes countries to impose worse standards on themselves than they would have without the EU?! It's my understanding that the motorways from La Manga up to Benidorm for example [as I'm sure many more are] were funded by the EU ie partly UK on the proviso that no tolls should be imposed because these roads are EU [publicly funded] but the Spanish impose more tolls than you can shake a stick at & no sanctions are brought by the EU
Is my info correct?
In the meantime carry on with your cesspit

That addresses absolutely zero of the concerns you raised about Spain violating the terms of the roads by imposing tolls. It merely suggests that some motorways in Europe might have offered better value for money being built as express roads depending on the metric you use and the traffic they're getting. Did you even read it!?

I'm going to presume you made that up or someone told you and you believed them blindly without a second of basic fact checking. Complete nonsense.

This one merely shows that Spain applies for EU funding to build roads, something the UK and all other nations do.
