Stop ya moaning and get up to Wigan on Boxing Day and support the lads.
Merry Christmas one and all.
I will come back and show you this thread later on in the season. IMO we got what we deserved for a completely unprofessional display - its easy to play reasonably well when the pressure is off and the team knew they were going to lose from the 5th minute!
I saw no evidence of improvement only a team that is very likely to be in the relegation zone come the end of january!
Why? All I have done is comment on yesterday's 90 minutes which was a great improvement on recent performances. We have been lucky to get 1 shot on target recently. Yesterday we had 7 plus 2 that hit the woodwork. There was energy, we looked to play forwards rather than sideways or backwards. We played some decent stuff at times.
Nowhere have I written we are out of the doldrums or that we have turned the corner. Read the last sentence of my post that you quoted.......The words IF at the start and MIGHT halfway through indicate that I refer to a possibility rather than a probability. Your reply intimates that I have written that we are on the way up. I haven't.If this is indicative of what we have coming up in the near future then we might have a half decent season after all.
‘Full of false optimism?’ Moi?
Couldn’t be further from the truth. I’m actually mightily pissed off about events in both the country and DCFC.
Just can’t see the point of adopting your ‘angry old man’ persona and having a dig at just about everyone on here - DCFCA apart of course which is entirely justified.
Can’t recall describing us as ‘unlucky’ recently although I do think Cocu has been dogged by bad luck, misfortune and circumstances beyond his control...and that that will change.
As for being a ‘shambles’ since September. That’s just not true. There was an incident in September which completely destabilised the club and for which I don’t think Cocu can be blamed.
Since then we’ve actually had a very good home run and the performance against Boro’ was arguably the best for two years or more. Unfortunately as soon as Cocu started to use that ‘round pegs in round holes’ formation some crucial personnel were immediately injured.
So yes...there’s a lot wrong, the away form is dreadful, a lot that has to be changed, it’s been a miserable season so far, we’re all disappointed and I’m sure your attitude to all that has happened and everyone on here will help a lot.
So Cocu cannot be blamed for how the players behave? Mm not so certain your right on that front. As for our home from, well its been a mixed bag certainly but from what I've seen very poor over the whole game. I called the team out in September, as lacking firepower, dire tactics and its got worse not better. Sure one can cite injuries, but the decision making by the players as demonstrated by conceding two needless penalties, the level of play the sheer awfulness of watching the team is down to Cocu.
Boro are a shambles, the performance was better than we have seen for most of this season, the best for two years is meaningless hyperbole. We shall see won't we? But IMO we will be bottom half or worse come the end of February.
So describing our team as a shower of ****e is going to affect the poor overpaid darlings? It must be hard picking up more in a month than most people earn in a year and then being absolutely dire on the pitch!
I don’t see how Cocu can be blamed for the behaviour of specific adults in their own time when he is not present...no. Unless you’re also going to blame Klopp for Firmino’s drink driving and every other manager for the misdemeanours of their playing staff.
Of course Cocu cannot abdicate responsibility for poor performances...neither is he entirely responsible for them. The missing of crucial penalties and the conceding of unnecessary ones has far more to do with our league position and as far as I’m aware Cocu isn’t to blame for either of those.
The argument about footballers being overpaid prima donnas is new to this thread and not one I disagree with however your attitude of having a go at all the players - and those on here who try to remain positive - is all too symptomatic of certain Derby fans imo.
PP is a bloody awful place to play when the fans turn against you as I’m sure Roos, Keogh, Ince, Waghorn and Cyrus Christie - to name but a few - will readily testify.
The players are currently devoid of confidence and being under a barrage of criticism - some justified, some not - from supporters at the ground, on forums like this and from a certain ex player turned commentator (I use the term loosely) on Radio Derby helps no one.
