The worst possible day and kick off time for a part time player has got to be a Friday evening kick off, most if not all the team will have worked a full week including match day and trained twice as well.Yet the last time we played them in October on the Friday we lost, now i know we never had our 1st choice 11 on the plastic but we did have a squad of full time pro's who had rested up whilst their opponents were working.
I find it truly amazing we can go to Dens and Inverness and win out the park but could not handle the part timers on plastic. The plastic pitch cannot be that much of an advantage as this season they have lost at home to,Arbroath,Ayr,Dundee,ICT twice and Morton. We really need to get back on track tonight but on current form i would not put a penny on us.The odds tonight are laughable,4/9 United and 7(Seven)/1for the hosts.
As potential champions we should be winning out the park but as always with our team you really never know, come on tae phuck United.

Think McMullan still struggling with groin. Maybe plastic not ideal?

With the chosen line up, could go for a 3-4-1-2 with full backs giving width, Butcher at the back, Pawlett in 10 and 2 up front. Would personally like to see that, but suspect not!

Look forward to seeing how we go though. Hopefully the break done us some good.

    C'mon United

I read that he was touch and go for tonight but that could be BS too i suppose.

The reality is there isn't a huge gap between Alloa and Arbroath and the rest of the league, they have improved, both are in good form and both are fit sides .. This is a difficult game at their place regardless of our form..

Crumbs Neilsons put himself on the bench ;-)

Seriously though pleased with line up and looking forward to seeing new boy

Would have kept pawlett on bench which probably means he'll score

I would have had the new boy on the bench at best but i will bow to Neilson's superior knowledge. He cannot possibly be match fit can he?.

Wouldn't think so, This isn't a bad way to get him match fitness, a good hour or so tonight, otherwise how is he going to get it

But you do concede they are part time,in a relegation dogfight and have worked all week whereas we have rested up for a fortnight and are full time potential champions?.

I would have played Appere ahead of him he will be very disappointed to be behind a player who has achieved very little in his career.

There is no excuse for not beating teams like Alloa. We have better players who should be fitter, fresher & sharper.
Lineup is bizarre to say the very least. Looks like a 4-4-2 with Harkes on the right of midfield. Tombolatastic. Nice to see Watson back in the team however.
