Not sure what you are on but it's not doing you much good!

Don't worry though, hopefully school will be open again soon.

Unfortunately the fact of the matter is a season in the NL consists of playing 46 games, in my view if those games are not completed then the season should be classed as incomplete and therefore null and void with no promotion or relegation and we go again next season when it is safe to do so.

If there is a section in the league regulations specifically relating to the curtailment of a season due to unforeseen circumstances that states the club in top spot gets promoted if so many games have been played then fair enough, but clearly there isn’t so Notts, Harrogate, Yeovil etc will be well within their rights to pursue legal counsel in the matter.

There's a specific section in the EFL regulations that allows them to invite a team (of their choice) in to replace Bury which stops all legal challenges if they go down that path - which means that is exactly what they will do if there is only 1 promotion place.

The wording of the letter from the NL board yesterday is also telling;-
"A letter sent to all 68 clubs on Monday warned that if either the National League play-offs do not take place, or League Two in the English Football League (EFL) is not completed, then "it is quite possible that the promotion place for a play-off winner could be jeopardised".
Also I would guess that the EFL and NL have already discussed what will happen in the event of a voided season - and the EFL have said (for arguments sake) - "We'll invite Barrow to make up the 72 clubs in the EFL"

I realise that, and if that’s what the EFL decide to do then fair enough, I suppose it lets the NL off the hook! My argument is the season was far from finished, I appreciate it is unusual circumstances and I’m not demeaning the loss of life and suffering the virus has cast upon the world but the season hasn’t completed and any team promoted by invitation whether that be Barrow because of current standing or Notts because of the Bury situation at this time have not fully earned that promotion until it is no longer in mathematical dispute.

Yes - it's messy and unfair to some whatever is decided - but to protect themselves i can see the EFL going down the "invite" route even if just to stop litigation.

I can too. It's quite possible when this is all over they may need to invite more than one. Who knows.

As stated earlier in this thread at the current time protecting life is paramount, that's exactly why I think the play-offs in any format have no chance of going ahead. Litigation surrounding non-promotion or relegation is one thing but a spike in cases (that leads to extra deaths) relating to the playing of NL play-off matches is on a different scale.

Get Notts back in. Proper football club with a proper stadium and decent fan base. The FL must make the correct decision.
I'm with you utm.Get a proper club back in the EFL, not a tinpot team full off willy woofters from 'up north'.

Ian Dennis was interviewed on BBC Radio Cumbria yesterday and said outright that he thinks there was no chance of the play offs happening.
He was also non-committal on what he thought would happen with promotion if that happened.
