We need a manager who has managed at least one club in his own right, who has achieved something of note with the club he's managed (Holt does qualify in what he achieved at Livi) but this is no time for a band of rookies.
Even Holt is a risk. I'd prefer someone who's been in the position of having to drag his team out of the ****. One who has experience of the going getting tough and also one who has a good record of playing football on grass.

I don't there's a name that will be wanted by all. I think if depends on what the board and TA are wanting with this appointment.

Stability but probably not greatest football on show - WRIGHT, HOLT
High profile but media circus - MALKY
Up and coming- ROBSON, DALY etc
    Someone abit unknown- MELLON

For me since its our first season up i still sway towards Wright, available, good record with saints and would surely stabilise us in prem. knows what the league is about, will be keen to prove he deserved a chance at a bigger club earlier. he ticks all the boxes bar one........ doesnt exactly play great football :/

That rules out me and my two mates out then (who would do a damned good job by the way). Paul could kick ass and I could comfort and understand the hurt he has caused while Dave can read the game and adjust tactics.

ps. We would only ask £120,000 total a year but that could be negotiable.

This sounds perfect. When can you start? As long as one of you has pulled on a United shirt at one point though eh? 😁

I'd much rather we took the time to consider all of the possibilities in front of us instead of a knee-jerk decision. Interesting that he said he's spoken to people not mentioned in the media, maybe Tony isnt leaking info after all! I still think Nigel Clough is worth a phone call if I'm honest. Maybe thats because I stuck a tenner on him at 33/1 mind you.
I agree re totally that clough great manager but would be consider us

All his jobs have been in the mmidlands

Season ticket holdering Arabs all three - and by the way Paul would pick the team and have everyone playing in their natural positions.
He also would coach the team to do in swinging corners.
I would be excellent at asking people for their bus money (and any fines that Paul had imposed on them).
I also would also be getting the players to practice the aspect of their game that Paul was moaning and swearing about and explaining what Dave would like improved regarding their play from the last game.
Dave knowingly could highlight exactly what we should be done to improve play.

Sorted 3 for the price of 1.

Tbf that's a very big move, especially with the others going in the other direction. Mackay 9/4 right out to 8/1!!
