Surprisingly, there will be very little gripes from me this season coming.

Clearly, it's going to be a struggle to stay up with this team , but you have to hope MM can get them playing at a higher performance level.

I dread when we play Celtic and Newco.

a season is around 45 games long (depending on cup runs etc). You need players to rotate in positions especially in the Premiership. I welcome having two boys who's best position is right wing, fighting out for a place in the team. It should bring out the best in both of them.

For what its worth, McMullan can also play left wing and you'd assume this Bolton lad can too, most wingers are interchangeable in terms of sides even if they'll have their favourites. Bring on the players, the more the merrier.

I don't agree you need players to 'rotate' in positions. We want a settled team with cover. We don't want to be rotating players just because we have options. We also have Freeman whose just signed a 2 year deal so currently have three right backs at the club, (assuming that's where MM sees him playing). Still, and back to my original point, the signing of Bolton means that one of Smith or McMullan is going to be on the sidelines a lot more this season than last.

I haven't seen any videos of Bolton on the left, which would suggest he's not quite as interchangeable as you suggest. He played all of last season as a full back and full backs don't generally switch sides. May be wrong however.

I'm not saying you 'need' players to interchange. I'm just saying I welcome players to the club who look like they could improve us and was making the point that McMullan has played on the left wing for us before and looked good! You'd assume Bolton is being brought in as a winger as Smith and Freeman seem to be our RB cover this year so like I said, the more wingers we have, the better.

Far too early to second guess positioning or strategy

First few games will show MM which players can fit into his style, and how their abilities or lack of them, amend the possibilities

Generally I prefer a settled team with any rotation down to injury or form. At this level we'll need two players for every position plus the youngsters so hope for further arrivals

Where is McMullan? I take it he's on the physio table again? He's not featured at all in pre-season.

I'm not second guessing anything though? I'm literally saying that it will be good to have some competition in the wide position...

    👍🏼

In that case, I'd definitely think Bolton is being brought in as a winger, certainly initially.
