Spot on. Especially in the first half there was no way they played to the tactics. And, sadly, that’s probably because as individual players they are not good enough. Go through the Rangers team from 1 to 11 and decide whether you would rather have them as a replacement for the equivalent Aberdeen player (McGregor and the Rat obviously excluded on the basis of being kunts).

Individual differences were amplified by the fact that our dream team controlling midfield of Ojo and Bryson couldn’t control a collective bladder which set the tone for everyone around and getting the ball forward. It may be too early to judge them playing together but I’m nae holding my breath.

If I was Cormack and Milne wanted to stay on the board (which he did, but with very little clout) I would have insisted he pays his choice of manager off if a hard decision on his future came up as he gifted him numerous wage increases. Pity we couldn’t have furloughed him and kept his furlough payments going for as long as the government were contributing. It would have severely p!ssed McInnes off but hard chucks as he is severely p!ssing is off being the way he is. The quicker his tenure at Aberdeen comes to an end the quicker we fans can try to look forward to a match day again.
You never know, with the friends and corresponding goodwill DMc seems to have in the media, it might be enough to spook Guffie Championship clubs into offering him a gig. He’s not daft, he knows his star is fading in the NE.

However, Uber Dandie Richard Gordon was sending out a few signals yesterday that the performance will have done nothing to entice the fans back (when allowed) so he knows the fans ain’t happy (including him)

Peter Martin, the fat Cnut from the Peter and Roughie show, ripped into AFC on Friday too so maybe his status is slipping in the media too

To be fair I thought Bryson was tasked with playing further forward & trying to support Anderson rather than sitting in a controlling midfield role.

Didn’t work, but it was Ferguson (who was unusually quiet and ineffectual) & especially Ojo who lost the midfield battle.

Ojo’s performance was up there with some of the worst I’ve ever seen tbh.

Dreadful touch, constant misplaced passes & giving the ball away & I lost count of the times he got muscled off the ball in 50/50’s.

He was abysmal. Shouldn’t be anywhere near the team next week.

I bet he will be though...

I think that it’s not just the Aberdeen fans that are sick of McInnes but general football pundits and media people are also. His negativity is becoming a laughing stock and a major kick in the teeth to all the hard work Wm Donald, Cormack etc put into Aberdeen so we became debt free and had the training facilities that McInnes demanded. We certainly don’t look like a team who use the fancy new training facilities properly as our imagination and fitness looked severely lacking.
It’s some amount of cash to have pumped into our club and claim that before previously it held the club back but now we play with such a negative perspective after all the positive input of hard cash. In a business sense it will be classed as a failure if you don’t get a return on the investment. A McInnes led Aberdeen team will not be a proven investment for all that cash. Time to rethink who carries out our new football philosophy.

Fair comment aside from the last paragraph.
Peter Martin is an alchy Tim who’s best ignored.
Cormack & our American friends are not stupid though

I think that’s a good point in regards to the training ground.

The big speech from McInnes a few years ago about how not having our own training ground was holding us back.

I would say we have looked worse if anything since the training ground was built.

The set pieces and throw ins were abysmal yesterday so I take it the players aren’t staying behind to practice them like McInnes claimed they would be able to do.

That definitely says a lot about the way our team are coached/managed. Since we have the best facilities we have ever had but for some reason going backwards then that will need to be addressed as it was a very expensive thing to build.

Ojo was dire, but like you say, he will probably still play next week. Bryson was dire, but he will probably also play next week. Why? Because McInnes needs to play them to try and prove himself right as they are two of his "star" signings. Bryson is injured so much that he will play him every opportunity when he's fit, even if he's hopeless. Ojo cost us money, so he'll be playing every time he's available too. To leave these "star" signings out reflects badly on McInnes. Not sure where McGeouch fits into this - he'll need to somehow fit him in to the lineup soon too to justify that signing.

On the other hand, what about Bruce Anderson? He puts him in the team and plays a system that basically makes a mockery of the young guy... they boy had 0% chance of doing well in that game - but you can be sure as anything he will not be starting next week. Why? Because McInnes doesn't have anything to prove with Anderson - he didn't sign him and he doesn't really care about him.

The pattern is, McInnes doesn't pick a team based on what will work and what will win and he most certainly doesn't pick a team to play attacking, exciting football - he picks a team that justifies his own signings and the horrific style of "football" he thinks is effective. He is too stubborn to change anything because he can't ever admit that his way isn't the best way. Listen to his post match interviews - he never says the tactics were wrong or the lineup was wrong or the preparation was wrong - it's just excuses and trying to justify his decisions.

It's all about HIM, and very little about AFC. That in the longer term may well be his downfall.

Post of the decade. Sums it up.

Lose to the Fermers on Saturday, in the same meek manner as the Sevco debacle, and it will be carnage on here and quite rightly so.

DMc managed to wriggle out of the tight situation that he’d gotten himself into before lockdown happened but it’s still fresh in the fans memories. It will turn into a cascade if the unthinkable happens at the weekend

    Let’s hope it doesn’t

No training ground in the world will improve our players when we have not the correct skills & attitude in our manager/coaching dept.

Instead of creating new good habits in our players, he reinforces old bad ones - by asserting that other teams are better than us & by default the suggestion to our own players that they are not good enough.
