CTMilller, thank you Sir. The 5 draws limit was Nez's extra suggestion after I originally thought of bringing in draws as an added incentive but, we got there in the end.

Spoke with our friends in San Fran last night, 7pm UK time, and she told us it was 84 and climbing and that was only 11.00am!! Saw that they think they've recorded the hottest temperature ever in Death Valley yesterday at a whopping 50 degrees centigrade...what?!!!

San Francisco itself is always a bit cooler so that’s quite high if they’re in the city. Here in Orinda - about 20 miles inland - it’s been around 100 for the last couple of days and 15-20 miles further East its been as high as 112. It’s unusually muggy and a couple of nights ago we had a thunderstorm with gusting winds. I was convinced my redwoods and Monterey pines were coming down but all was well. Strange and scary weather and the utility company is threatening rotating power outages because of excessive AC usage.

Also not to forget the firefighters who are out there tackling wildfires in this heat to save lives/homes with a pandemic thrown into the mix. Another group of 'unsung' heroes.

TBH I'm still skeptical about the 3 points for a draw and limiting to 5 Brin as adding it introduces complexity for both you and the players that doesn't need to be there. I get that you want to be able to provide means of separation but I think that will happen naturally compared to this season because:

1. There will be 10 points at stake rather than 5
2. You are selecting fixtures rather than going with every game from a single league. I'd imagine that means you won't be picking 'sitters' so straight away it will make it harder because previously posters always flocked to the 'easier' picks and could avoid the harder ones.

With regards (2) if you do pick harder fixtures, someone should be able to predict 6,7....10 draws if they want without either penalty or excessive reward for doing so.

CAM, thanks for your ‘two penneth’ but let’s not over complicate things. What I’ve proposed is pretty simplistic to follow and not difficult to mark.

As for picking fixtures from different leagues and not just ‘bankers’ makes it where you’ll have to study the form more as the season progresses.
