Maybe you should take up watching a different sport because the stats are here to see

This theory that he's lazy or doesn't put in a shift is complete *******s too, he said himself (but he could be a liar, who knows) that he's in the top 5 every game for distance covered when they show the players the stats after games in this interview - https://youtu.be/jz33WkGD9r4?t=512

Its Got to be better than what we have been doing ?
100% that would be better. The thing about making money on academy players, is they have to be good enough. Right now the standard is nowhere near good enough, the problem is that we have a bad rep in terms of giving players a chance. Now to build a decent rep will take years, and as a National League club, we can’t afford to hold onto players on the off chance they’re good enough in 2-3 years. Scrap the academy and focus on finding more gems like Cal Roberts, i am sure if we keep him for 1 more year, we could sell him for £1 million+. Brentford have shown moneyball works, look at Ollie Watkins, Brentford signed him for £1.8 million, they’re about to make £20 million minimum.

That stat is very revealing about the effectiveness of one or two players. O'Brien was injured for a long time, fair enough, but so was Booty. Look at the difference between their contributions. Very poor return from Doyle who was an ever present. McCrory has very little threat down the left and both of our right backs need to offer more going forward.

I didn't say he was lazy or didn't put a shift in. I said in many games he was average or poor, but that doesn't mean he hasn't contributed to the game..

Playing in Enzio’s position, I would expect him to be round about the the top 5! That’s his role in the team.

It’s like saying Slocombe takes more goal kicks than anyone else!

Incidentally, did we ever find out the identity of the player who did less running (or sprints) than our keeper in the match at Mansfield in our relegation season? I seem to recall Leigh Curtis once referring to it.

The only chance Osbourne has here is if Ardley is sacked.

We have a terrible culture in this country I remember hearing so called “experts” who have all played for big clubs/countries saying Trent Alexander-Arnold he can’t defend and he can’t do this the lad is only 21 playing at the very highest level and he has way more plus points than negative if he is getting this level of scrutiny than it is not surprising a no mark like Chettle is saying what he is supposed to have said about Sam.
So, Ardley does believe Osbourne is good enough for the squad? Your original point was that he didn’t.

Currently - do you believe Osbourne is better than Enzio and Roberts? I don’t. Is Osbourne worth a place in the squad? I believe he his, so does Ardley.

In terms O’Brien. The move out wide worked in the semis(selected ahead of Enzio also)so Ardley went with the same line up in the final. Didn’t work and I hope it won’t happen again.

With regards to Trent Alexander-Arnold, not sure what your point is here or what relevance it as to Chettle supposedly giving an opinion on Osbourne. But anyway, when TAA first came on the scene, he wasn’t strong enough defensively. Still not the strongest part of his game, but the positives now out way the negatives.[/QUOTE]

How has TAA got better do you think ?

Under Ardley he'd have been stuck behind Clyne typical British manager mindset as you could see with his dads army squad trying to keep us up.

Clearly game time, but there are obvious differences to the TAA situation.

    - TAA, when he first appeared, better in his respective position than Osbourne
    - The competition(Clyne) in front of TAA weaker than that in front of Osbourne(Roberts & Enzio)

So it wasn’t like Klopp replaced a better player to give TAA his opportunity.

Dads Army squad? We had an incredibly young goalkeeper(most would argue too young/inexperienced for the situation we were in), 2 young centre halves, a young untested forward from across the river. But that’s what was available, as with the older players brought in. But this is going onto another matter.

The bottom line, Roberts and Enzio are(currently) better than Osbourne. But, Osbourne has been offered a new deal and an opportunity to further develop/impress. Not sure what the issue is.

The argument that Ardley doesn't play youngsters is a load of sh*te to be fair, his job is on the line, if the young players he gets to watch on a daily basis were good enough, gave everything in training, followed his instructions (this was said about Bird because he was fed up talking about him) then he would play them, he's not been afraid to play young players in general, he has a history of working with them (Cardiff) and gave plenty of Wimbledon youngsters their debuts.

As said above, he had a very young defence last season (which Bird was usually a part of by the way) and a young goalkeeper, he had older options he could have used but he didn't because he thought the younger players were better.

Booty took set pieces (well) which helped with his goals and assists compared to Jim to be fair but Doyle doesn't really get involved in the final third at all, he's never been a player to get goals and assists so he's not going to start at 39

Maybe, but I'd still expect a midfielder to be involved in more goals that that. Even Rose beat him and that's saying something.

My main issue is the full backs. That's nowhere near enough assists from them. We need to get more crosses in to the box. McCrory looked two stone overweight in the latest training video and I'm hoping we have somebody younger and faster in the pipeline.
