This afternoon I was doing my weekly shop in Bowmore Islay when I spotted a couple of fervent Rangers supporters one of whom I personally know is a Unionist.
I said to them that the latest of set of Gers results were just about as bad as when Craig Whyte was in charge at Ibrox.
They were not impressed to say the least.
One Rangers supporter left leaving me with the Unionist supporter who said to me. Thank goodness that Scotland is still part of the UK as an independent Scotland would not have had any money to pay for the furlough scheme.
I replied that Nicola and her new finance secretary Kate Forbes think that they could borrow £500 billion no doubt on the ‘never never’ to spend their way out of trouble. No responsible financial organisation would lend them that amount of money with ‘no strings attached’.
The IMF might lend that amount of money but they would insist that an independent Scotland would have to greatly reduce their public spending decficit and stop spending money like there is no tomorrow.
Interesting.

I had you Doon as a monthly shop man.
