I feel i have answered that question on several occasions!

I am Cohort 10, if thats what it gets called, but my exposure to risk is low because i am not working full time, or with any customers or members of the public. My wife is also Cohort 10, and i think her and her colleagues in younger Cohorts are being asked to increase their risk by spending extended time in a room, with youngsters who dont understand distancing and hygiene rules fully. The dominant Kent strain is causing more serious symptoms, sending more to hospital, and sadly killing younger people, and only lockdown has suppressed it.

The case ive seen made about not "prioritizing" teachers is based on data gathered when reliable data was, like you say, impossible to gather because teachers had their exposure to the virus practically nullified.

So to be clear, my personal opinion is that ALL public facing and high density workplace employees who are ALL facing similar risk levels, should ALL be prioritized ahead of employees who are working from home or at very little risk. And for reasons i have put forward recently, i dont think that is such a hard thing to achieve.

Think the problem here is a lot of people would agree with goverment that those at most danger of death should be treated first and work it's way down to those least in danger of dying. You will never get everyone to agree though chick's wife works in a school so he thinks teachers should be done before older people guessing he also wants everyone else who works in the schools done also like dinner ladies cleaners janitors matinence people trainee teachers assistants etc.As they can all come into contact with these children who are coming into contact with lots of other children but what about those childrens parents and others who stay in same households as these children they must have at least same chance if not more of being infected by the child than a teacher or any of others working in the school so should all them jump the queue as well?Other people who have members of there family working as bus drivers taxi driver gaurds on trains shop assistants in factorys in offices with others etc etc will probably think their family should jump queue and be done first but everyone can't be done first.I will slag wee nic if I think she is doing wrong but think she is doing this the best way she can.

I know you dont like reading my posts, bit i implore you to read this and tell me what part of the following do you think says its only teachers i want ahead of myself?

I agree with the government as well, but if it can be done, it should be done.

You talk about risk but ignore the biggest risk factor of them all with regard to this virus, AGE.

I can see where you are coming from I would not mind people who are more at risk than me receiving the vaccine before me as I am just 60 in fine health reasonably fit and on furlough I think chance of me catching it or dying from it are very small. The problem is who should get my place a teacher a bus driver a cleaner a policeman a parent with children at home etc etc.I think the only way they could get it exactly right is to take each person check out what makes them think they should be next then give every person in country a place that would be fairest way but who would decide if a bus driver or a police man comes first or a school cleaner or a parent with three or more school age children?

I have not ignored age in the slightest, and the age groups that are most at risk of death have already been covered by current Cohorts, and this should be completed.

Now we are heading towards the new Cohorts where deaths are less likely, to me the people who are at most risk of catching this and suffering from severe symptoms are who we should be targeting, and those who are in full time, public facing and high density working environments and should be considered for a bit of que jumping, be that preventing waste, or re-arranging appointments.

When Cohort 6 is complete, it is possible we should have vaccinated 2.5m people, and i dont think the numbers of the groups of employees i am talking about will be that big, especially when some might have already been caught by waste reduction.

That's fair. Don't you consider the opinion of JCVI that trying to do what you suggest will have a seriously detrimental effect on the speed of the rollout of the vaccination program putting more folk at risk?

Looks like it OA. That's hell of a lot of commuting going on there though, especially at this crucial time of the crisis. Strange indeed.

It is a lot of commuting. Would that be a usual route for an offshore worker to come home or is it likely someone is trying to f*ck the system?

I was thinking probably normal until you planted that seed .

Over to you Offshore, you will know better than us. That amount of travel/changes does seem a wee bit OTT to me , but I'm not in the oil industry.
