As a Yank I know little about eurozone but I think that the English now have autonomy on their legal system.

forgot the other countries and teams involved in the super league. Just crush and bankrupt the English teams. the league falls apart at that moment. Make it such a high stakes game of poker that even billionaires back down.

I think you'd find that the FA has total sovereignty over all of the English teams and I think you'd have very little, if any, problem in getting all of the clubs in the FA to vote the 6 teams out. This is especially the case if the lower teams get a windfall of money.

Make it transparent and a public spectacle. Make the stakes so high that they owners back down.

it's really a "make or break" moment for the FA and FIFA. back down and you'll forever be beholden to these types of teams threatening to break off. Win and likley put this off for years and year.

I'd rather fight than bend a knee to these greedy owners. I think the majority of football fans worldwide feel the same.

PS- It's a win/win for the FA and FIFA.

neither of these organizations win many PR contests. what better hill for them to fight and, maybe die on, than this one?

With you entirely in your sentiments, the issue isn't with what sanctions the FA (and others), can mandate, its the passage through the courts with the inevitable challenges (from people with VERY deep pockets), that will make club level actions a lengthy process, hence why banning players from non-FIFA/UEFA affiliated competitions is a simpler, faster way to go. Shame it would hurt the players, but alls fair in love, war and football.

    Agree Alf,
Chucking those six out would mean promoting the top six from the championship - then all the way down the leagues - imagine a premier league without the big six? how competetive would it become? how many of the rest could realistically be in with a shout of winning the league.

Could be a bonus for all fans apart from the poor buggers - who appear to a man to NOT want this to go ahead - who support the big six? after all - you cannot change your alleigance can you? Liverpool supporters couldn't become Evetonians overnight etc, so you have to feel sorry for ANY true fan caught up in this, to be punished due to their owners greed.

They have already made anonymous statements saying they are willing to discuss and compromise - it is a power grab for more money on a permanent basis.

A few pundits think Man City May drop out as 1 they don’t need the money and 2 Man City is part of a worldwide PR project. This seems to be a large part why PSG said no.

They key protagonists are thought to be Real Madrid, Man Utd and Liverpool.

It has already achieved what some Italian commentators thought was impossible - a unified view from all Italian politicians.

The Crystal Palace chairman spoke very eloquently to Sky about his view.

The English 6 want to stay in the premier league so I hope they all get deducted points which means they finish in the bottom six places or better still get demoted to league 2 with the top 6 in each lower division getting promoted. Maybe then they may learn a little humility in the fight back up the divisions and having to deal with the EFL financial fair play and sustainability rules.

If it is not dealt with firmly and quickly then it will resurrect itself in some new form. Good luck to all the leagues involved.

Thats going to be a problem isn't it, how do you punish the clubs. Fans, players, coaches obviously not involved in this. What punishment really fits the crime here?

Disqualification of all executive officers of clubs and (if possible), owning group from any role as "controlling person" of any football club.
