I agree with your comments about the likelihood of opposing fans mingling at Dens. The point being made by Islay is that Dee supporters have to buy their ticket in the club shop which creates traffic towards the club shop from all points of the compass. If each stand had Patg turnstiles then there is the likelihood that there would be a reduction in the number of fans moving around Dens. It won't stop it all together but it might make a worthwhile contribution. Double queues has been a topic on here many times and it is not just as simple as opening a turnstile and giving them tickets and a cash float. The shop works well,IMO, but we have been working with really quite small numbers of fans. Hopefully we will build up our fan base however it needs some creative thinking and leadership from our club.
Last year I tried to Sell Out the Derry for one particular game. Covid cancelled the whole thing but I'd be up for trying to do that should we be allowed to turn up at Dens. Maybe turning the ground into home support only should be our plan. Get good streaming facilities and try to encourage the away support to buy the online facility. It might not work out because perhaps our support has enjoyed having a drink at home and watching our games online.
If we do think home fans only is the way forward then some work needs to be done to ensure that all the stands are sold out and the maximum number of seats available will need to be calculated.
At present there is only a PATG in the Main Stand.
Anyone who does not have a season ticket has to purchase a ticket for the Bobby Cox Stand or the South Enclosure from the Dundee Direct shop and then hand it over at a turnstile in the Bobby Cox Stand or South Enclosure. The same thing would happen if the Bob Shankly Stand was for home fans instead of Away fans.
If there was PATG there would be no need for people to purchase a ticket at the Dundee Direct shop and little chance of Dundee supporters and Away supporters passing each other in Sandeman Street at the rear of the Main Stand.
Non season ticket holders would go directly to their home stand of choice and hand over their money at the PATG turnstile(s).
If the Bobby Cox Stand was handed over to Away supporters which part of the Main Stand would you give to Away supporters.
Section A B and C which happens at present as it is next to the Bob Shankly Stand or the rest of the Main Stand apart from sections A, B and C which would be next to the Away supporters in the Bobby Cox Stand.
From memory I think that your excellent Sell Out The Derry project was for the home game against Arbroath on Saturday 29th February 2020 but sadly this game was cancelled on the morning of the game as the pitch was waterlogged. Interestingly I think that there were no other SPFL games cancelled in the surrounding area which makes me very suspicious.
The only way that all the stands are sold out on regular basis is to encourage all the ‘one game Charlie’s’ to attend Dens Park on a regular basis and not just for the Doon Derby or the Championship decider on 3rd May 2014.
Think we should plan for some form of social distancing and organise our stands for home support only. 11k total , 3k in each of Coxy and Shankly, sorry can not find the numbers for the SE or the Mainer but it might be 1800 in SE and the balance of 3200 in the Mainer. If we manage to sell 4000 STs then that means about 1000 in each of the Bobby Cox and Shankly 1200 in the Mainer and 800 in the SE. Surely these figures are easily coped for social distancing? I am pessimistic that the current "good times are back" is a cynical election 0loy, local elections down South and Holyrood up here. Once we have voted think the 3rd or 4th wave will become the driver for policy. I hope not but Rross has been pretty consistent in his view that we are not going to escape the new political regimes any time soon.

Even at level 0 we will not have a normal experience at the match.
I think you will find that if you are having a 1000 or so only in each stand a lot of regular attenders to Dens just won't bother. Atmosphere is bad enough with 1500 in each stand and little away fans, 3500 spread over whole ground with zero away fans in the depths of winter.....no for me
I won't be back until there's no restrictions which I don't foresee anytime next season.
Watched a wee bit of the snooker today, crowd all masked up touching their faces looking a tad stupid.....obviously snooker players, refs and cameramen are covid immune.
You say little chance of supporters passing each other in Sandeman Street if PATG. Ok then how do you suggest i get to Sandeman Street to PATG in the Main Stand if i come from say Victoria Road, Stobswell, Forfar road end of the Cleppie etc.? The fact of the matter is no matter if Dee fans were in the Coxy or the Shankley PATG will not stop the mixing of fans, the set up at Dens and Tannadice and surrounding areas makes it impossible for fans not to mix going in and out the ground.
