Under Ardley none of this was happening yet the pro Ardley camp refuse or fail to see there was a problem with him, grinding out a result was the order of the day , being outplayed was acceptable if we sneaked a point against a mid table mediocre team as we all know a point is to be respected no matter who the opponents were.
it would be nice if they were to put their hands up and say you know what , we were actually wrong about him, The football he played was dour and rubbish and what we are seeing at the moment is a joy and long may it continue.mind you what's the quote "it takes a real man to admit when he's wrong" ,
Nobody puts baby in the corner !!
Ardley was basically crap in his final year with Wimbledon, totally crap in his first year with Notts, getting worse in his last full year with us and achieving the heights of mediocrity, yet he has his supporters wishing he was still here. Notts fans thinking he couldn't sink us much lower so he must be on an upward curve.

At one time this year we had so many games in hand we would have been second in the league had we won them but game after game it was loss, loss, draw... to teams much lower than us, purely because Ardley had us playing to respect the point after us scoring first. No chance of us going for the throat then, "sit back lads, the game's ours - oops!"

Really pleasing to see that it took nearly 8 hours on a busy message board for anyone to respond Davy's message. Ignored by so many. Probably had something to do with it being something we've all read dozen plus times or the universal lack of desire to go over old ground and talk about the Macclesfield match back in December 2018

Sadly there was no surprise who let the side down and replied, nor which usual suspects quickly followed it up.You guys really come as a little group. You are like a little NCM gang lol.

Having read the messages since and the usual resorting back to discussing Ardley and of course more references of me including the use of nicknames again(?) and a few insults I think it is safe to say this sort of talk belongs in your 'Handbags Thread'.

Do we still have anyone who can move this to the popular designated thread? If not hopefully someone sensible like Elite Pie can self police the gang and take this sort of stuff there as he has suggested and promoted many many times before. Thanks in advance EP.

People have moved on. Looks like a few either still haven't got the memo or more likely just don't want to change and continue to try and instigate petty personal arguments #sadetimes

Come of guys we are playing great football and are in the playoffs. The future is bright the futures IB.

That's a really good observation. Somehow Pedro has blocked me yet his output aimed in my direction has somehow increased!!!! The feature appears counterproductive in his case.

I'd say calling him "infatuated" is being kind and undersells his behaviour somewhat.

It's got the designated "handbags thread" written all over it.

So we can only make judgements about the here and now and also what has gone before.
So compared with what was going on with Ardley as the manger and what is happening now would you concede that things are better
with IB in charge at the moment ,as it stands now it is the right decision? from what you have said I would say you agree , I certainly do.
Off course it could go t1t5 up , but then again it could have done with Ardley , some say it was already
Yes we are 100% playing better and great football the last few games. I thought that last season in the run in though. It probably was the right decision, I guess my only concern is/was IB is an unknown quantity but having said that I would have been more up for taking a risk on a young couch than someone off the merry go round. People that didn’t want Ardley to go ASAP, weren’t a cult of people in full non wavering admiration of the guy, it was about as Leigh Curtis said 50-50 who still backed him, they just had a different perspective of his tenure to the other 50%.

I've seen you make lots and lots of comments about other posters, but you've barely commented on the match.

Strange for someone who supposedly only wants to discuss Notts. Did you go?

You also say never won key matches yet you forget about Mansfield at Home, Barrow Away etc.

Also the majority of the team didn't stay. Certainly not the ones that were needed. Let's have a look at what he had to work with shall we:

    Fitzsimmons - hopeless

Tootle - totally lost it, fullback who couldn't stop crosses

Bird - may have played OK but trained horribly by all accounts

Oxlaide-Chamberlain - signed by Hardy because of his brother, evidence football ability isn't genetic

Crawford - seemed quite small but decent and possibly should have been used more

    Doyle - used extensively

O'Brien - legs may be fading but still used extensively

Osbourne - an untested youth player at the time

    Mitch Rose - used extensively

    Enzio - Used extensively

    Campbell - youth player

Hemmings - sold as very expensive

Dennis - probably not used enough

From this, we can see that yes, he probably could have thrown a side together, but the defence which was always the issue the season before would have been awful. He managed to keep the midfield together and did have proven forwards if not massively expensive and draining of a budget for a club on its knees.

Just have a bit of perspective
Great reply, but I’m afraid your wasting your time. Davy constantly spouts this rhetoric, particularly NA not winning any big games and he’s been corrected previously. Add in the PO semi win over Barnet, he certainly won some big games.

Anyway, why can’t folk just move on. Whatever your opinion of Ardley and the circumstances he managed in, he’s gone. Owners made the decision, proving to be the correct one. End of discussion.

Enjoy the moment and leave bitterness or love to NA/other posters behind. Move on.
