Have you grasped the past versus present tense? Just want to check before we move on

You do know you are allowed to ask others to move petty arguments to your handbags thread? There have been plenty of examples recently where I have not been involved and you have once again you have said nothing. You could say you've gone as quiet as a mouse..... again. Hmmm I wonder why lol

Whilst I've got you just want to check you don't like the use of nicknames do you? You still find their use disrespectful?

Reading the overnight posts on this thread from the usual 3 you have to wonder where this idea of infatuation and obsession comes from?

It's made up surely? Where's the evidence?

    Handbags Thread R.I.P

[QUOTE=magpie_mania;39789321]I am afraid that you have shown that you don't think but just write everything anti-Ardley.

Lots of criticism about him being too defensive (I agree) but there's no way he can be accused of poor defensive play when we had conceded the least goals this season and the 2nd least last season.

Criticise all you like (you have done enough already!) but the defence wasn't the problem. Only last week there was a thread 'The Rock' about Ellis - who signed him?[/QUOTE

There is so many things i could accuse Ardley of how long is your Arm?
You that obviously does not think, before you write, and just write everything to defend your idol

I said his STYLE of defensive play, because its negative in approach and lets teams come onto us ( proven in key matches , where he had no answer to the high press) most teams in this division with respect are poor outfits, where notts must impose themselves, with a belief to win, from the offset most of Ardleys games against these types of sides were undecided into the closing stages of games, with it possible to swing either way - not good enough

By the time Ardley left i do not think we had let in the least goals, the brief time we did for about a week, all of the clubs apart from about 5 had scored more goals, because of ardleys negative set up, and ideas
So what we had a good defense, at the expense of attacking, winning football

So on that basis the likes of Chesterfield, Wrexham, Stockport, Hartlepool, Yeovil etc also need to be asking how they let little Sutton deservedly win the title? Right?

By the same token , last season little Barrow and little Harrogate they outshone Notts and Ardley but moreso the other clubs and managers with bigger financial resources. That's 3 examples for you right there, you need to be a well run club first and foremost not the laughing stock of the entire football league as we were that season.

Doesn't it prove that it's not all about the size of wallet and how much you back managers. Didn't do us much good under your buddy Me Hardy's reign. You can get promoted if you are well run club with a good manager right?

Recently you mentioned the turning point in your mate Hardy's tenure was the oh so harsh officiating in the play off semi final. Can I suggest to you the bigger turning points were when he sacked Nolan? Or Kewell or more than both of those perhaps appointed Ardley? The "worst manager in Notts history" according to DavyFacts

Think about that for a little while before replying.
The answer as to why sutton won the title, is because they consistently beat poor to mid table teams, something Ardley never did, he could,nt even beat Dover , that won 2 of their 15 matches, let that sink in

I already explained it could have quite easily been us in the Championship today, instead of Coventry. Things could have quite easily turned out well for Hardy

Yeah i always said it was a huge mistake sacking Nolan ( surprisingly a lot of fans wanted him gone- hope they are happy with what they got, and where we are today )
Hindsight is simple, there is no way Hardy, or any of us, at that time, even had thought of relegation
Guess where relegation was born, by Ardley, winning once in his first 12 matches, casting us 8 points from safety , losing the key match against macclesfield,.....
It beggers belief some notts fans were behind this clown - for absolutely no reason, his stats were worse than fullartons, its an absolute disgrace
