I won't be upset if it is Wilder but from a personal point of view I'd take a chance on Lampard. I know it's a risk but any appointment is. He's young, plays the game the right way and I feel that he would attract players to come to the club. I don't think that we should be looking further than one of these two as the other names that we've been linked with don't inspire me.

The Megson style was very different from the Pullis style as well, we had Bob Taylor, Andy Hunt, Lee Hughes and Roberts through that era and we were not a boring side, the difference was we could defend and attack and we were competitive all over the pitch, that's what I hope to see under Wilder.
Minor point but Andy Hunt never played under Gary Megson at the Albion Mick, he signed for Charlton before Sir Gary arrived.

    Of course you're right 68.

During that final match of 2000 against Charlton you'd have though Hunty was playing for us.........he did absolute "Diddly" and when he had one clear chance he hit row Z of the Brummie Road and then winked and smiled at the Albion fans.

I loved that, always great to see a former player do something like that when there's nothing hanging on the result for his present team.

What a smashing player he was.
