Keep it simple

First comment on this but last year after first week I realised I needed to back 5 draws every week because - it made sense !
Going forward I would respectfully suggest I point for a home, away and draw but to make it interesting you could predict each score for another two points ie Rotherham 2 Sheff Wednesday 0= 3 points or 1 point for the win with the wrong score and maybe 10 points for the correct number of goals , very simple ?

We used to do this but it really is a lot of work if you use pen and paper like Brin and not Microsoft Excel to calculate the weekly scores. Everyone used to just predict the scores and would get 2pts for getting the result correct (e.g. predict 1-1 and it ended 2-2) or 5pts for getting the score correct. Brin has graciously taken on running it so I agree that keeping it simple (for the organiser and the players) is the way to go which is why I favour the same points for H,A,D and no restrictions.

MILLERSTALE, a word to the wise pal. Not every week produced x 5 draws so don't throw your chances away. Thanks for your ideas but, as for checking every single scoreline from everyone will take me an age so I can't see me running with that one.

As for the goal tally I've decided in all fairness to reduce the correct goals scored, down to 5 points as this IS just a lucky guess and on some occasions last season, winners from this scored more than what other participants had predicted with their 10 predictions.

I originally said I'd leave it while this coming Friday for more ideas but, there's more than enough to use so watch out for a separate post soon, showing the simple rules and regs we will be using for the coming season.
