    Is probably the right answer.

There’s no reason to think they won’t last. And if, like the phone companies, businesses realise they can get away with ripping people off in ways they couldn’t before, there’s every reason to think things will get worse. None of stuff I mentioned has anything to do with Covid.

Apart from this nonsense, the biggest tangible is that nobody is boring us to death with Brexit anymore.

The UK has done really well with its vaccination programme, that's not a political point relating to brexit, it's factual. To have 75% of adults vaccinated is a remarkable achievement. Some ex-colleagues have been involved in the rollout and delivery, it's been really hard work. It's great that Denmark and other countries are also doing really well. It's not a contest, the higher each country's figures are, the better for all of us.
    Hi Cher
Totally off the Brexit topic. Do I gather from this post you now live in France ? Not to be too nosey but if you are I was wondering how difficult the process had been to move ?

Morning TD. We're in France for much of the year, yes (lucky us!). We bought before Brexit and it was really easy tbh. Don't think the buying process has changed since, it's way easier than the English system, very straightforward.

In terms of visas etc, you can be here for 90 out of every 180 days without any restrictions, or for 6 months I think with a short term visa. To actually live here, if you've got an Irish passport by any chance, you're fine. If not, to live here you'd need a permit, which one depends on whether you'd be working or retired. More info here: https://www.service-public.fr/partic...sdroits/N19804

Here's the visa website, but it seems to be down for maintenance at the mo:https://france-visas.gouv.fr/web/fra...soin-d-un-visa

If there's anything else, drop me a message 🙂

Thanks Cher. It just so happens I’m waiting for my Irish passport to be issued, not an easy process during COVID times !
Thanks for the info and I may just tap into your knowledge when I finally retire from the NHS after 42 years in 2022

The Irish passport is very handy! I'd say go for it, it's a wonderful place. Depends on where you are of course, but life where we are is peaceful, and the people are incredibly kind and friendly. Property, again depending on area, is much better value than at home and you get a lot of character and scenery for your money if that's what you're after. All the best.

I'm glad a presumably wealthy, business-owning expat in Australia is benefiting, that makes it all worth while...
