Now renamed TCW, Defending Freedom, in my inbox every morning. There's some good stuff there, a friend or supporter of the current Tory party and Boris it most certainly is not. I would recommend it, but that's possibly no recommendation at all really is it.

For a long time now the only difference between them has been the extent to which they allowed state interference in our lives. The Tories appear to have given up on individual freedom and responsibility, we are all beholden to Nanny now, whether those running the country call themselves Labour or Tory, it makes little difference.

wanderlust --you are lucky to have a choice. Where I live you could put a red rosette on a monkey and it would win. Our current incumbent was a big supporter of JC and was the leader of the Miners' Union before involving himself in politics. Mind you, even his majority has been reduced from over 10,000 in the early days of his tenure in 2010 to 814 in 2019.
I remain apolitical and realise that politics is just a way to waste energy if you become too involved.

Agreed. It's a front for the billionaires who really run the country, staged for our entertainment.

I've just got back from a week on the North west coast of Cumbria and I'm too knackered to argue with you at present sinkov, but I will have a few words and revisit this subject later.
I was shocked at how much money we will need to "level this area up". Whitehaven and Maryport sandwich Workington, all three towns have rich industrial heritages, and are all on their knees, but it had escaped me that the constituency of Copeland is in Conservative hands.
One thing we can all agree on I am certain, is that Johnson's "Magic Money Tree" is far bigger than even the one Jeremy Corbyn envisaged.
When you are walking the fells, having nice lunches and dinners, one can forget how lucky some of us are. The multitude of Smackheads in the doorways and alleys of Whitehaven reminded me how much more of Johnson's lucre we will need to level up this nation of ours.
