Good point against a decent side.
Strange comments on here you would think we have just been battered. Yes we had pressure second half but battered?? White stick needed I think.
They should climb the table and we should carry on doing well. We ran out of steam a bit but all in all a good result.
Charlton fans outside ground were very complimentary about us.

Just a hint of “ massivitis” creeping into some of our fans’ comments

    Team did well tonight

Comfy first half changed a bit in the second.

No disgrace with w point they are in a little buy off form and playing for there places with w new ma after yet to be appointed.

Apart from Wigan results gone our way tonight so can't complain.

Just move onto the next game

I said Edmunds Green could cost side like Saturday & he did. Very poor tonight wide right & left. Harding should be on the right of the back 3 but he's best we've got to cover on the left. Barlaser our best player tonight. Wiles & Rathbone out of sorts or just games catching up with them.

I thought Wiles played well but Ollie needs the battery recharge and a two week rest would be welcome. It could turn out to be a decent point.

Charlton played us at our own game tonight by getting in our faces, closing us down and stopping us playing our game.
They are the first team this season to pul our midfield out of shape too.

But we did ok and the period leading up to their goal we were well on top and should have got a second. A worldie from their keeper at point blank range and a howling miss by Ferguson on his wrong foot should have put us out of sight.

As others have said ….battered ???? I don’t think so.
The ref certainly wasn’t a homer either as others have suggested. He certainly favoured us and Ihiekwe should have walked with a second yellow.

Some thoughts on the Charlton fans

What a friendly bunch they are. Apparently if you live in SE London you support charlton if you are a decent human being and if you are obnoxious you support Millwall. Nothing to do with proximity to each stadium. No hint of trouble at the train station and everyone in good spirits.
They were miffed at our goal because of a potential foul throw and they said the ball spun out of play temporarily. Didn’t see that as it was down the other end.
Full of compliments to us and the best side they’ve seen.

They couldn’t work out what our style of play was though. One minute it’s bombarding their box with crosses and corners then we can play some sublime passing and movement.
Yep mix and match… very difficult to play against because the opponents don’t know what’s coming next
Call us a direct team if you want but we’ll catch you out with some slick play when you aren’t expecting it

There’s another factor in the fan issue - West Ham

Their dregs often infiltrate the Charlton and Millwall games ( mainly Millwall) to cause trouble.

Listened to PWs press conference and he thought the ref was giving them everything for a good spell.

    Great result though
