Don't see we can complain there or that its an example of "cut throat" nature of modern football, has it not always been the case that a player is sold for whatever price the buying club is prepared to pay and the selling club is willing to accept?

Derby are where they are due to a businessman failing to run the club like a business and bailing out when he didn't want to fund it anymore. I still believe he has the financial resources to avoid this mess and could have handled things much better, so maybe we should look closer to home?

True Derby need cash, but presumably they also need players, can't sign any on a fee and therefore unless a bid is silly money, don't have to sell?

I'm also not sure why you would think the "modern day football community" would be rallying around a club that has spent millions and finished up in administration? Self inflicted wounds and hopefully (though I doubt it) a lesson to other clubs spending unsustainably on the promotion dream.
Don’t disagree with the general sentiment of all that although I’m not entirely sure about the ‘self inflicted’ wounds.
I and many others vociferously supported that particular local ‘businessman’ being unaware of the alleged ‘wrongdoing’ that was taking place under his ownership.
Such owners are only ever temporary fixtures and custodians. The ‘club’ is bigger than all of them but it is the club...i.e. DCFC with all its 138 year history and it’s supporters...who now stand to suffer most
In that context I believe Gibson’s actions to be deplorable (Wycombe’s marginally more understandable). If he has a score to settle with Morris than that’s up to him, but it would be good (and entirely justified imo) to see the football world come together and tell Gibson that enough is enough where DCFC is concerned.

As regards the rest...you’re right and, as I’ve acknowledged, we’ve been guilty of parasitic and predatory behaviour ourselves, but the sight of football clubs now falling over themselves (off the pitch) to do others down is an unedifying one imo.
