Will somebody amongst the mods just post a message that says "John2 is always right"
He's obviously upset

Of course we can move on, but first, we need to get the bottom of the issue. Your attitude sets a worrying and dangerous precedent.
What you had said wasn't offensive. You just regretted it.
I think it's a slippery slope to suggest that gives you free rein to remove all mentions of it including removing other people's posts without explanation.
I ask in all seriousness... is any poster allowed to retrospectively request that any historic post they are embarrassed about can have all mention of it erased from the record? Expect a flood of messages from GM in your inbox if so. Where do we draw the line?
I think its important we establish exactly what the rules/expectations are, and then see the being applied consistently for everyone regardless of moderator relationship.
There are 2 ways to change the record. Acknowledge a mistake, apologise, and keep the record intact, or use special powers to censor and alter the historical record. I'm worried about the latter.

It's up to you to put some coherent argument against what John says. If that persuades others he is wrong then fair enough. It's not enough in an argument to say I dont care what you say you are wrong and I am right. It carries no weight in a discussion.
Why are some on here constantly talking about fining this club?
In case anyone is still reading and to answer a couple of questions I saw earlier here's my take as a Moderator editing threads
1. Most of my edits are to thread titles. I'll either add or remove O/T where necessary, sometimes I add the RIP where the original poster has neglected to do so and I'll always edit a thread title if it's left dangling as Clickbait ("Wouldn't it be nice if we......")
2. I did edit a post title recently when someone purposefully changed Freddie Ladapo's name in a derogatory way. I issued a warning to the poster who has subsequently decided to no longer post on the site (his decision not mine).
3. I often edit thread content to correct missing HTML tags, usually caused when someone uses the Reply With Quote option and accidentally deletes the ] off the last QUOTE tag. Once one of these is in place it usually cascades through the whole thread until corrected. These are probably the edits you usually see long after the posts were made.
4. If a user requests a post to be deleted I probably grant those requests 10% of the time dependent upon circumstances. I usually leave them up if it was someone simply making an 'arse' of themselves.
5. I often edit my own posts to correct grammar/spellings but this is usually within a couple of minutes (the same privilege afforded all posters). I would never knowingly edit my own post once it has been quoted or replied to and I don't think other Moderators should. I did it unknowingly once and Crash was replying to (not quoting) my post while I was editing it. I acknowledged I'd made the change when he pointed it out.
6. I always try to include a reason in an edit. I do the same when I delete a post but unfortunately only the Moderators get to see those. Posts that are deleted properly (using the Delete function rather than removing all their text) live on in MM (even those deleted by the originator) and can still be viewed (or Undeleted) by Moderators if necessary. Deleted/edited text in posts does not persist.

I've no need to bother. Cam usually edits them for me.
Chuffin eck no wonder you always leave my posts up cam (Point 4) 😆
John, it’s Brins choice to delete or alter his post as he wishes, it isn’t determined by your thought process alone, or your take on censorship.
I ask in all seriousness... is any poster allowed to retrospectively request that any historic post they are embarrassed about can have all mention of it erased from the record? Expect a flood of messages from GM in your inbox if so. Where do we draw the line?
I think you you will also find Brin hasn’t had a single request from me.
