IB gets plenty of say. It’s a team effort from scouts, statistics and coaching staff.

I thought there was a youtube interview on this subject as well. I shall try to find it.

Was the last time recruitment "worked" when we last got promoted? Or have we had a good recruitment period since 2010?

The Richard Montague interview a while back alluded to the fact that Brexit had put a hole in the recruitment strategy. I would guess that's a lot bigger than he made out and the idea was to pick up more players like Rodrigues and Sam from abroad.

IB has said himself before that he is involved in the recruitment process. Whether that’s highlighting players he likes or discussing players that have been spotted. Jaros was recommended to him by a mate at Liverpool. He chose to take his mates word that Jaros has ability.
He wasn’t seething at all Wijnaldum is on £250-300k a week at PSG not a chance Liverpool are paying that.

Klopp will want to keep Salah but if he starts asking say £500-600k a week he isn’t getting it is he.

When I say he has the final say it means on signings etc if they are outside the budget then obviously he can’t control that.

Mbappe is on a “free” ALL clubs would want him but only a few will be able to afford him.

Yes IB will have a say in transfers and I never said he didn’t I said he doesn’t get the final say which means if there is 5 people in the process and it’s 4-1 against he is unlikely to get his way this is just how it is.

IB will say I want a LB as an example but it doesn’t mean he will get the exact one he wants if the stats aren’t in that player favour I mean after all some of you have been saying our owners are playing footy manager but when it comes to putting the boot in on IB it is all his fault.

For the record IB knew what he was signing up for so he can have any complaints.

No it’s not as cut and dried as that there is a team of people who make the decisions IB will say I need a CM / RB as an example then it will be a team of people who make the decision together that is how I believe the model works.

We needed a keeper we know IB said Jaros has been recommended so in that case he got what he wanted and we more than likely have tracked him.

It can’t be a worse set up then some of our previous ones where we admitted we didn’t give a medical was that Burgess ? Can’t remember exactly but our set up now seems to be a tad more professional !

No medical for the Burger Van . It's better to look back and laugh rather than cry at admissions like that. Thanks for the reminder Legs

Just taken a peep and after scoring a goal every 9 games for Notts, Big Ben managed a grand total of 7 more games in his career before retiring just under 2 years after we signed him.

No, but he'd only had 3 careful owners as well as having 6 months M.O.T and a foods safety certificate.

He certainly 'never raced or rallied', that's for sure
