As discussed on MC, it's all about finding the right manager, we see it time and time again, managers come in and transform clubs - literally overnight in some cases with no pre-season, no 4 year plan, no clear out, they come in and take the club by the scruff of the neck. That's what we need at Notts but we almost certainly are not going to see it under these owners any time soon.
I agree with that statement that a good manager / head coach needs to leave the club in a higher position than when they found it. In this league we’ve finished 3rd, 5th and 5th. So whoever comes in ideally needs to get us to finish next season in one of the four places above us.

I’ve listened to that entire episode of MC and it backs up what many of us know that the manager is the most important position at the club. They are the face of the club on the field. That’s why I’m not bothered that the club are not rushing into appointing someone. I do agree that it would be brilliant if we could get someone who gives the club that kick or extra power to get us out of this league. Much like what Dave Challinor did at Stockport. The last manager to do this was Steve Cotteril and Martin Allen. The former was the final piece of the jigsaw and we flew. The latter was an impact manager and a fire fighter.

The new manager / head coach will come in and have to play with the cards he has been dealt with which is fine with me because like Steve Cotteril and Martin Allen many managers that make an impact in the first six months usually do so without any or little transfer activity.
