Reluctantly i would imagine.
PW is only a perfect fit because he keeps getting us promoted after a relegation, it's easy to try and belittle the achievements he has done on limited funding, but after his first relegation when he took over a team assembled by Alan Stubbs, and then abandoned by Kenny Jackett, he has managed to rebuild 3 teams to be promoted straight away and not something that should be taken lightly, because after the Stubbs and Jackett debacle, PW would have been out if he didnt make an impact in his first full season in charge. I disagree Grist, you seem to put snide comments in a lot about PW, whether it's a 'sings from the company hymn sheet' or things about being a good human being, and to be fair you arent alone on here. However 3 consecutive promotions after consecutive relegations, that's if you count the Stubbs team he inherited for relegation, and also count the covid hit season for promotion, then for any manager at any level of football, that is phenomenal to keep rebuilding teams to challenge after having some of our better players also sold on.
All of our rivals from this last promotion season would have taken PW as their manager, and why wouldnt they? It's only some of our own that doesnt think hes good enough. UTM
Agree with you Ronners. Paul Warne is probably the best manager we have ever had, especially under the circumstances he has to work under..
I seriously wonder what keeps him with Rotherham United.
Personally I would go for another manager in the Championship but I know it would be a gamble as if it didn't work out Warne wouldn't be there to get promotion the season after.
But equally, you can't keep going up and down forever, people will get sick of it.
It's not just about PW though gf as, along with TS, we have put together a management team who also identify other up and coming players from teams in the uk, Jamie Lindsay and Ollie Rathbone to name but 2.
We now also have premier league clubs and big championship clubs more than willing to give us some of their better younger players on loan for a season and they get well looked after by our management team, who also just want to make both our own players and loan players improve.
IMO our club has never had a better image in football in the UK with how we go about things, but even that isn't good enough for some, and if we got someone to come in alongside TS and put extra money into the club I personally would want PW and the rest of his management team to be given the chance to show what they could do with the opportunity to bring in better players.
