Ellis Brown (postman) decent footballer, Brian Edwards (fisherman) think he passed away few years ago. Dave Coultas and Dave Lambert were decent cricketers from that area.

Yes, Ellis used to bring me and a few others in from UHCC to play for Rotherham Post Office as 'ringers'. Had some great trips out with them. I think Ellis was related to Ronnie Dudhill in some way who we chatted about a while back.

That's a shame about Brian, I was close friends with his younger brother Alan. I went on my only ever fishing trip with Brian and a fishing club. Off Bridlington in fairly rough seas, puked all day and I caught nothing.

Both nice blokes, a bit older than me but took me under their wings at UHCC and taught me a lot about bowling.

I don't recall the two Dave's you mention.

Well, that's interesting because the murder of a woman called Pashley by her husband took place in Jackson Crescent in 2006. He was found to be unfit to stand trial and sent to a secure hospital. Very sad case and a horrific murder.

That's the one patty, happened in front of their child too. He definitely had violent tendencies even as a 10-12 year old.

Brian Edwards went to school with me at Little Haugh School, nicknamed Edda ? He often talked about his younger brother “our nip” a real unpolished diamond was Brian ? ended up doubled up with curvature of the spine, saw him off at the Crem, fishing was his life, he also watched the Millers.
Still see Ellis Brown trolling round the local cricket grounds on Saturday.
Dave Coultas and Lambert used to play at UHCC but must have moved on by the time you started playing, lived on Meadow Avenue near Archie ! Steve Jones fast bowler might have still been at UH when you started ?or even Matt Hamshaw ?

Thanks for that MT. Brian was a great bloke and if I remember right even had back trouble when bowling back in the 70s when he must have only been in his 20s. Not sure what you are saying about Matt Hamshaw? He wasn't even born back in those days and I don't remember his dad Phil ever playing for UH.

If Archie lived on Meadow Avenue he might remember my Uncle/Aunt/Cousins who lived there. Herbert, Annie, Roger and Christine.

Looks like the Derby takeover has hit trouble again because the new owner hasn't come up with the money.

Icky could be playing in the conference North if he's signed. 😲

It’s just one farce after another with them

Icky won’t have even been in contract with them is my guess
