Sorry if I’ve missed it but as Grigg signed if not & Smith goes it’s not leaving much time to get decent replacements in.Washington,Kayode & Kelly not much of a forward line for the Championship
I think providing we give it a good go and not relegated by January, people won't get sick of it. The season we've just had is up there with the best in out history.
In the Championship we are a minnow in a huge lake. I don't think Tony Stewart investing a couple of million extra for players wages etc would make that much difference tbh. The gap is too big. Getting in the right type of players who buy into the gaffa's mantra, some astute loan signings on top is our best chance and I think PW is the right guy to to be at the helm.
We have all the time in the world
Dunno why we torture ourselves it is the same every summer. 1 or2 early then 3 or 4 in after protracted negotiations close to deadline. It will never change no matter what league we are in. Meanwhile we look on in horror as 2 or 3 of our better players disappear quite early on in the transfer window. We will get a couple of decent signings in before the dedline but always be at least one key player short. Cest la vie for millers fans.
I do think if TS was able to stump up a couple of million on wages that would bring in .maybe 2 or 3 good quality signings on decent money it would make a huge difference to our fight to stay in the championship, but it's highly unlikely he would gamble with the clubs finances and take a big gamble like that.
I fully agree with you regarding loan signings, which would also have a big say on our chances next season, but at least the management know about playing at this level of football and we have to trust their judgement. UTM
Reading the Tizer, they seem to be admitting that the chances of retaining either Smith or Ihiekwe are receding.
It wouldn’t surprise me if this was already known and replacements lined up although of course that would not be reported on until concluded.
Smith being linked with Wednesday, Cardiff & Hull.
A move to Hull might might make sense, but not to S6.
Although Ihiekwe is only linked with Derby currently, I wouldn’t be surprised if he ended up somewhere in Lancashire seeing as though he lives over that way, although again I hope it is to a Championship Club.
They are already in the departure lounge and have been all week
