He would be my choice, matt. None of this cobblers about 'knowing the league', he knows what football managership is all about - been there, done that.

I know a few Leyton Orient fans and they’re absolutely scathing about Jackett after his spell there last season. Think he might be quite a long way past his best.

Mark Cooper, but not sure he’d be welcomed back haha.

Is that a clue Pedro? Are you hinting that we're close to appointing renowned coach Schnawtin Kopideks from the Albanian Premier League?

Yes I thought about Cooper too. I think people are getting too wrapped up with it being a Head Coach role, as I said some managers may well be happy with relinquishing being in charge of recruitment and vice versa some talented coaches may not apply if they have to get involved in it, if they just want to coach and develop. The important thing obviously is we get the right person, it worked for FGR, I just want someone who is talented and can lead the team.

Following on from the historic Burchnall Bandwagon, I'm considering starting a Williamson Wheelbarrow.

Yeah, I'd say Askey is the closest. My point is, I doubt someone like him would be willing to join as a head coach. So if we want a manager who has already been successful, it's likely we'd have to make some concessions about the whole head coach thing.

When was the last time we actually enjoyed jumping on an idiomatic managerial vehicle? The Cotterill Cart was fun.

Maybe he wouldn’t, but much more successful managers/coaches than Askey work as head coaches much higher up the leagues. It’s new for Notts, but not for English football really, I reckon a good third or so of Prem/EFL ‘managers’ actually have ‘head coach’ as their role/job title, and that’s going up all the time.
