It was stated in the Sunday Times newspaper two weeks ago that the Scottish Government had only spent £250,000 out of the £97 million they had received from Westminster to deal with the replacement of cladding on buildings in Scotland.
The leaders of the opposition mostly backed the government stance on Covid, Sturgeon even took the UK Government lead and added extra restrictions to it, why would they form or propose any different approach?

Boris was unlucky? Boris is and always was incompetent. No morals,no respect for anyone, and a narcissistic streak a mile wide. Missed cobra meetings at the outbreak of covid to go on holiday, oversaw the selling of government contracts at over value, to his mates, lied to the Queen so he could break the law.

Repeatedly lied to the people and parliament, partied non stop, blamed us because he broke the law.

Boris is unlucky in the same way that Mark mcghee was.....

He's gone. Do you think any of the politicians at Westminster of Holyrood have any chance of actually addressing the problems facing us given the way that the media behave?

Politicians,of every side, need to get down to the backbone shop. If your policies are right,no-one really cares what the papers say. Thatcher didn't care either way. She might have been wrong but she believed she was right 100%.

That's all I want, politicians who tell us what they actually believe, then let us vote with that information. Then stick to what you believe no matter what.

And maybe believe tomorrow in what you told us you believed today......

Well said Grantzer. I doubt if either Margaret Thatcher or Tony Blair would survive the social media storms that get whipped up. I think it should be illegal for mainstream media to use Twitter and suchlike gossip in their broadcasts. It might be OK if the social media platforms were made to pay for the mainstream media journalism that they poach and spin as suits their agendas.

There is a reason why most of these politicians are at Westminster and Holyrood. Because they are no use at anything else and they do not need any qualifications to stand for election.
They just have to represent the party most likely to be elected in each constituency.

You are totally correct. Twitter should be banned for political posts.

Sorry Islay. You misunderstood me. I don't object to Twitter. What I do object is mainstream media channels quoting Twitter. That's what affects many more people that the individual tweets. A newspaper prints an untruth you can sue them. An individual tweets anything they want to and there is o recourse if you happen to be the subject of an untrue tweet.

If you go by the logic of the Left and the Police ( little difference imo) because no charges are brought Starmer is innocent of all partygate offences. Therefore Boris is guilty of the one he was charged with and paid a fine for but by the same token innocent of the rest due to not being charged. Therefore, again, Boris is found guilty of the only offence he has been charged with where he was in his home, at work at the time but stopped to be presented with a birthday cake. He did not even eat the cake or drink alcohol. Starmer on the other hand was not at home, partook of alcohol and a huge takeaway in a bigger crowd than Boris at Downing Street and the minutes / schedule of the event showed the work had stopped! If anyone thinks Starmer is any better than Boris (who I would add I am/was anything but a fan of) then they are gullible in the extreme.

I think more of them all for breaking the rules.

Some will have us going thru all this again and again and again.

COVID is over, pandemic finished April 2020, country is ****ed let's hope they don't **** it anymore

Dutch farmers seems to be the new front opened up on "climate change".

Read today the UK produces less than 1% of co2 emissions, china 34% plus ......why are we doing this **** to ourselves.
