I disagree. The media must continue to use all available sources to expose the sleazy underbelly of UK (especially Tory) politics. These corrupt *******s need to be held to account - all of them that is, not just the Tories.

But surely much more harm to society has been done via Twitter than benefit to society. I don't use Twitter so my views are based on the arguments of others. I have to say I have not encountered anyone who thinks Twitter is a force for good and a support for any democracy.

MSM has decended into publicity for anyone with a grievance that can be blamed on politicians. It's their persistent attacks without ever providing any remedies that seem to me to be so damaging. The net zero carbon mantra is really very dangerous for our society. If we can't stop it we must take a rational and gradual approach to solving our problems.

The Scottish Government have not been counting all the CO2 emissions throughout Scotland as they have been ignoring the CO2 emissions from one sector of the economy.
I have known about this since July 2018.
A Climate Change interim report produced for the Scottish Government in December 2019 stated that the Scottish Government would not be counting CO2 emissions from this sector until 2022 at the latest.
This report was published pre Covid and I would not be surprised to see the 2022 date delayed blaming the Covid pandemic as the excuse.

I don't understand why not counting peat bogs as part of Scotland's CO2 emissions is being done. a very quick look at Google shows that it is the draining of wet peat bogs to use the peat that creates emissions of carbon. If they stay wet then apparently on a worldwide basis they hold more carbon than all the other forests in the world.

Why would the Scottish Government not want to record the CO2 emissions from peat bogs?

I enclose the Climate Change interim report produced for the Scottish Government in December 2019 and I suggest that you pay particular attention to Page 80 headed Peatland restoration which explains everything including the likely increase in the annual total of CO2 emissions throughout Scotland as a result of the CO2 emissions from Peatlands now being counted. https://www.theccc.org.uk/wp-content...iament-CCC.pdf

Which industry in Scotland cuts and burns Peat on an industrial scale.
