According to figures France v Belgium game at NYS, attracted 8,173.

It would seem the Euro championship 2022 has broken attendance records, for the Women's Euro's.

With 15 games to go the total attendances are 248,075

The previous record was the 2017 Women's Euro Championship games played, was in the Netherlands
    which attracted 240,055 in total.

Yes, but basically it’s a set of lies, dodgy figures compared to other dodgy figures.

I agree on previous points that numbers might be based in tickets issued, freebies etc but really there’s no excuse for it. These are modern grounds with electronic turnstiles that log every ticket scanned. So real attendance figures are easily available

Basically it’s just a con to hype up the women’s game

Having accepted (somewhat grudgingly!) that the figures 'might be' based on all tickets bought and allocated, why does it bother you do much that you'd care to post about it multiple times on a message board??

You may be right that the tech might be available to count the number of those who actually attended, if you're part of trying to raise the profile of the women's game, to professionalise the sport, create industry and jobs that could go with that, why would you choose to publish the lower figure?

But most importantly, why does you or anyone give a t0ss??

Simple really, I don’t like being lied to and I’ve never fancied following the herd of sheep

If you’re happy to be conned then that’s fine by me.

By the way, I’m not wanting them to publish the lower figure, just the correct one

But why, when it appears that just about every club, including your own, publishes the number of tickets sold, rather than number of people actually choosing to attend, does it suddenly bother you when it is the women's game that do it?

Its neither illegal, nor secret. Just businesses trying to use data to make themselves seem that little bit more successful than they actually are, from Manchester City down the Spud-u-Like Irregulars 2nd XI.

Again, why care, just cos its the women's game?

Most businesses that are driven by/rely upon revenue from advertising are beholden to 'viewing figures' e.g. TV viewers, Newspaper circulation (remember those), Web Site page visits etc. All of these have 'independent bodies' that regulate the figures to make sure that the advertisers are getting what they pay for. In terms of football crowds I haven't ever heard of figures being audited with similar scrutiny so it's just one more example of the modern day phenomenon of being offended simply for the sake of being offended?

Some get offended by the very idea of women's football, particularly if coverage is by the BBC.

I went last night and really enjoyed the atmosphere. Very friendly and good natured. It made a change from hearing all the old blokes only making a noise to complain and crowds taunting each other.

I thought it was a decent crowd from being sat in the south stand. Hard to tell what the attendance was as all areas had people in them. When the attendance was announced everyone applauded including Belgium and French fans. No in the ground would have questioned the attendance. Mexican wave was going off which looked pretty good. Most kids near me were cheering for France and most adults kind of wanting Belgium (underdog) to win.

Well done pal for going good on you.

Does it matter what the masked figure for attendance is. The main factor is, the NYS. is now a recognised stadium to accommodate any European fixture.

Well done everyone associated getting our our club on the European football map!

What have have S6 got to say about this and their ‘massive’ pig hole ?
