Such are the vagaries of a footballer's life.
Sometimes sinkov you just make your own luck. Napoleon’s favourite generals were the ones with luck on their side. Wout was unfortunate in his time at Turf Moor. He started well but finished badly.

If Weghorst had even attempted to back heel a football, he would have ended up on his arse.

Fantastic effort from the English girls. Well done and congratulations to all involved.

Lucy Bronze I am certain could compete in most men's teams.

The big bonus was of course we beat Germany in a major final.

Totally agree BT, a good solid performance throughout the tournament and came out of it as Champions in a very tight final.

Lucy Bronze could play for anybody, she is a tough Northumbrian lass, just like the one I married! Upset at your peril!

The big bonus, as you say, is that we beat the Germans. The bigger bonus is that, because VAR did not intervene to give them a penalty from what would have been a ridiculous handball decision, the German TV pundits are stating that they "Have been robbed at Wembley again" Talk about digging up the past! Well done Lionesses ----certainly proud!

That through ball for the opener from Walsh would grace any game.
    Finish was tidy too.

My biggest problem has always been with the standard of the goalkeepers, even when I was coaching, because of their lack of height more than anything. However, I thought that both 'keepers last night were really good and a credit to their profession. BT, I can assure you that there are some very skilful players at the lower levels and this bodes well for the game.
