I suffered McParland's 'passing football', so I'm sure I can cope with this.
I dont know how some can comment on the style of play at home games if they haven't been there... They must have a crystal ball...

That is surely only a flaw for season ticket holders, because they've paid up front. What about the supporters who pay for match day tickets. If they found dull week in week out they wouldn't go right? They could go food shopping instead or play a round of golf.

Or does the 15 wins and only 2 negate the entertainment level?

I'd also class the home record as better than pretty good, as a barometer it was the 3rd best in the league. That's not opinion.

Are you saying MarcusCole hasn't been to a home game Durham? How would you know?

Wrong. Supporters who pay for match day tickets might do it because their personal circumstances make a season ticket financially unviable. I'm only guessing, but I think some who pay on the day are just like me - they will go when they can regardless of entertainment value. We all do it when we can for one reason - because we're Notts fans. As durham said, if you weren't at Meadow Lane how can you comment on the entertainment value? The likes of me and durham base our opinions on what we see at Meadow Lane with our own eyes, and in my opinion the 15 wins definitely masked the entertainment level. Your opinion is based almost exclusively on stats and points.

And of course your vast network of sauces (snigger).

Not sure you can start the post with a definitive "Wrong" and then follow it up with "might" , "guessing" and "some" lol, loses almost all its weight when you do.

So glad you said might and some because some might not and some surely would stop going if they found the games dull.

Of course everyone is allowed an opinion and naturally they vary because it's subjective. What isn't subjective or opinion is the number of wins, draws, loses, goals scored, goals conceded, nor the reported attendances. They are all facts. Now of course you may interpret a home record of W15 D5 L2 as "pretty good", I'd disagree on those stats and that points haul from Meadow Lane I'd up to "very good" , which seems to fit better with the 3rd best record in the whole division. Again like Rafa I'm dealing in #facts.

But as they say opinions are like @rseholes, everyone has one

Quite ironic that you use the old phrase 'opinions are like arseholes'!

The main point of my post was that regarding entertainment value me and durham base our opinions on what we see, while you base yours on stats and facts.

You forgot to address that bit!

You can call it dull but effective football at home if you like but others disagreed as the crowd figures showed from start to finish.

Of course it's absolutely fine believing the current approach won't get us promoted it might not, finding the right approach has been tricky for a long time for Notts.

But you can't seriously pretend that being a ST holder last season with that record was tough and/or would result in a big drop in attendances at the Lane.

The attendance figures last season (and I presume this) include season ticket holders who didn’t turn up, which AFAIK hasn’t been the case in the past. I thought yesterday’s actual home crowd was a fair bit lower than I’ve seen for a while.

Perhaps it is the fix they get from going to the match we all know the emptiness that seems to gnaw at us during the closed season and would do anything to avoid that full time. There is also that spark in us that just knows if we don't go it will be the game when they get their act together and start playing.

It wasn't a nightmare but it was incredibly dull for most of the time, the game against Dover, there were bottom of the league on minus points and we couldn't break them down for most of the match. I love going to watch the defenders kick the ball between them and the keeper for 80+ minutes.

The ground is like a morgue at times the fans feed off the excitement on the pitch and create an atmosphere that rises the players, but it is impossible to get excited about the 100th passback to the keeper.
But didn't stats show we were the team who made most attacks into the opponents area?

durhampie, I think you need to sharpen your maths up, being born in '59 I have been watching Notts since '67, so have seen enough success.
I have since watched yesterday's game back and saw it as I remembered it live, which was that we were having the best of the game, (all be it with no cutting edge, even after they scored), until the half hour mark, and for ten minutes after half time they bossed it. Then we scored and the tempo changed and we equalised after the substitutions , after which we had a good chance to win it. All this totally baffles me as to why so many people have such a negative view of the performance. Never did I get the impression we were bullied, and we certainly had the better chances to win the game
If we were drawing or winning after 30 mins, having played exactly the same, I doubt very much there would have been any booing. People said it was only after the substitutions on the hour mark, that we came alive, but I thought that was when Chesterfield looked more lively/dangerous too.
I wonder if the fact we were playing when fans knew we were down in twelfth place, after the other games finished, had any affect on the attitude (negative) of the fans.

Or possibly they listen to Charlie & Stall when they can't attend who generally say it as it is.I

Much more involvement these days via social media, full commentary than there used to be.

Fair enough, it is not as good as being there but to say people can't comment isn't really a realistic position to hold.
